Thanks a lot for fixing NTFS problem.
Didn’t find a way to register in the forum so here is my feature suggestion:
    – Wii mote disconnection to save batteries (after some seconds of inactivity, just like mplayerce does)

In some websites, there are some screens of the application, but the User Interface isn’t the same. The Screens of the Design are veeery good and good quality, but the Actual design is less good than the design of the screenshots there are in other websites. WHY??

PD: You are doing a really good work! thanks

Great work. WIIMC is the best Mediacenter.

My fault. I’ve seen that having enough patience the wiimote disconnects automatically.

This is a great Media Center for Wii, I was using old MediaPlayer and stoped updating since version 23/12, now went to try this new version and I’m amazed with it, the only thing I really miss is continuous video playing (playing all videos in a folder), because WiiMC only plays one at a time and stops.

Hope my comment can contribute to develop this program as the best for the Wii. Cheers.

First al all… Congratulations!!! The app is great, is pretty, useful, and simply to use.
You done a great job. Thank you so much!!

    But, I have a suggestion.
The adding of Mono support to the app.
Not all the people have a Stereo TV, he almost have Mono (yes, I have a very old TV).
The problem is that when I’m listening to a song, or a Movie, only sounds one channel, and this is horrible.
My Wii is set to Mono, but no HB app have Mono support.

I hope you understand my suggestion and take it.

PD: I sorry about my english, I still learning.

wonderfull! the audio stream selection works great! but for some reason i still can’t change it in the menu… so that might be something to take a look at, but that is like the only thing i can think of that doesn’t work…

oh maybe you guys can put in a option to stop the dvd so you can insert another one…

I really hope for continuous video in a folder playback or an ability to make a playlist.

Being able to set up a sleep timer would be a HUGE plus!

You guys rock so much! I’ve used my wii primarily for a media center for a good year or so now. Mplayer ce has been my savior from wasting a billion dvds. The new wiimc is more then words! As soon as i get some cash i would like to donate! This project is well worth it! Thanks again!

    @Juanpa
I’m the UI artist for WiiMC, and those screenshots on other sites were just mockups – they were never implemented on the Wii in any way.

We changed the original design because it just wouldn’t translate to a good experience on the Wii. The goal was to create a great-looking interface without getting in the way of the functionality of WiiMC, and some of the mockups just wouldn’t make sense in a real-world situation.

I’m happy with the end result – it strikes a good balance between design and functionality.

thank you for you job..is great.. i have a question about network… is possible to insert an alias instead of the ip in the network configuration..there is a DNS service conversion? for example can it works writing “mydisk.xxxx..org” as IP?

WiiMC loads fine and I’m able to move the pointer for at most 3 seconds then my wii freezes… The application looks good but I can’t use it!

    Wii 4.2U
    Hermes V5
    cIOS rev 19
    USB drive 500 GB.

Every other homebrew works fine. Even MPlayer CE…

Hello, great application, congratulations. However, I try to watch a mkv video (the video codec info is avc1 and the audio codec mp4a) and for some reason the audio is much slower than the video, when I try to watch the same file in mplayer-ce it has no problem. Thank you, sorry for my bad english.

    Great application!

Just one concern, you can only fast forward at least 30 seconds, it is a bit much. Thanks for this

    @bio31
There is a way to make an online playlist. Check out Navi-X inside of WiiMC. This reaches our online media portal. You can go to http://navix.turner3d.net to make playlists easily that show up instantly, ask questions regarding Navi-X in our forums or chat with live support. The best part is everyone can share these playlists and the benefit of finding and adding links to video and audio. Check out http://www.Navi-X.org for more information.

Thanks for the fix team, my USB drive is now working, great work.

Issues I have found, movies DVDs won’t load (fails with a core dump, I reinstalled CIOS 202 just in case, but that didn’t do the trick), online media also failed while loading. I’m loading the app from the USB drive (no SD card) and it says it can’t save the configuration file when changing settings.

Video, Music and Pictures working perfectly with NTFS and FAT32 USB drives, interface working flawlessly. Files load awesomely fast, compared to MPlayerCE, navigation is much, much simpler and nicer.

Some suggestions (if time allows for them):
    – Add an audio visualization system like WiiRadio when music is played
    – Audio folder playback (play all the music in a folder) or add an option to select all files in a folder to add them to the playlist

Great job, thank you all for your efforts.

    Hi there,

    AWESOME! THANK YOU! GREAT APP!

But I have one big wish: When in a folder with several videos, could you please make an option to play all the vids in a row automatically, without alway having to select the next file, when a the current one is done? Just like it’s done with audio files.

And that would be even more better, if the cache would start to fill up with the next file, when the current one is about to end – so that there would no “Caching file” delay! 🙂

But whatsoever: Thank you! That’s ahellovan app! 🙂

    @Cretin
Try using Pimp my Wii v1.4

You might have some outdated IOS that needs to be updated.

Try installing 202 as well if you haven’t done so

  29. April 19th, 2010 at 19:47 | #29

It’s a great program and better than either GeeXBOX or Mplayer_CE.

Just a small suggestion/comment : is it possible to consider to support multi-languages
in next version ? (EX: to support Chinese filename)

    Regards

    Hey Everyone!!!

My name is Bill and I work with Team Navi-X on the Navi-X Online Media section available in WiiMC. Congratulations to Team WiiMC and their great contributions to the Wii community!! Undoubtedly they will bring just as much, if not more excitement to the Wii console then XBMC has for the Xbox!! On behalf of Team Navi-X, we are excited and eager to see WiiMC expand and grow rapidly among Wii users as the primary source for all your media center needs!!

For those unfamiliar with Navi-X available in online media for WiiMC, check out http://www.navi-x.org for more details. I don’t want to beat a good thing to death, but Navi-X is the best thing to happen to online media since internet! Now, you all have the ability to build your own WiiMC compatible playlists instantly for online hosting and sharing of direct links to video and audio content on the internet!! If WiiMC can play the file format, you can not only organize your playlists of links, but you can archive them for sharing of content with other WiiMC users!!

Currently, my playlist has the vast majority of all episodes from AdultSwim.com ready and available for you all to playback instantly from the internet, and best of all, this benefit is free… If you browse to Navi-X in the Online tab for WiiMC, then browse to the full user list, you will see iRoNBiLL’s Playlist available… click episodes then select the show you want to watch and more then likely, you will see my unusually large list of Adult Swim episodes linked directly from AdultSwim.com’s website. This is just the beginning of the kind of content you can access in Navi-X!!

There are currently major differences in how Navi-X the online section and how Navi-X, the original application work… but in short, Navi-X on WiiMC can currently play direct links to video and audio files and streaming playlists… anything else will be a work in progress, including movies, certain tv shows and other popular material in Navi-X, like YouTube, ShoutCAST and iTunes Podcasts. With luck, we will find some programmers to port over our application coding into WiiMC and be able to simulate popular operations in WiiMC, just like Navi-X does, giving you access to more and more content eventually.

I’m so excited to begin working with the leaders in Wii media center development, Team WiiMC and we can’t wait until we can offer even more content and features we currently have in the Online Media portal for Navi-X we currently offer! If anyone has any questions about Navi-X in WiiMC, please don’t hesitate to head over to http://navix.turner3d.net to get answers to your questions via live chat or forums, as well as create a playlist to be made available in WiiMC!!

Once again, congratulations to Tantric and Rodries as well as the rest of Team WiiMC for all their work on this project!! Best of luck!!

    iRoNBiLL

    Hi,
this is the best Player I have seen. Thanks for that. Please add an option to change the aspect ratio in a video.
And I guess the aspect ratio 4:3 is not real 4:3. When I am watching for example The Simpsons the Video is cut. Pls Fix.

oh yeah it would not work until I found a post about making a folder sd1:/media/video even though I only use it for streaming from my PC until I made that folder it gives an error about unable to change directory to sd1:/apps/wiimc maybe you can change the error to say unable to locate sd1:/media/video just a suggestion

I’m having problems with the player, I installed IOS 202 and the channel, they both install fine, but when I load the channel it just returns to the wii menu and if I load the app from HBC The only thing that works are the credits and then it show an error screen with some code dump and goes back to HBC.

    Any ideas?

Finally managed to play videos over network shared hdd, after initial struggles… Simple as disabling the UPNP support on my NSLU2 (which was, by the way, leading to some other nasty side effects).

Thanks for this great piece of software and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need help on an italian translation!

Oh, yeah, and I should agree with paperhacker: if video isn’t 4:3 (or, technically better, if pixel size is not square), aspect ratio is not the correct one..
