wilsoff was kind enough to design an official channel – you’ll find it on the Downloads page. It uses my own forwarder code, complete with USB 2.0 (via IOS 202) and NTFS support. Enjoy!
If I start wiimc with the forwarder, when i want to close wiimc and return to loader/whatever by pressing “home” the system freezes and must be shutted down by long pressing “power”. Something is wrong with the forwarder because there’s no such problem when i start wiimc from hb channel
Anyway, i still can’t access my account here, i’ve resetted the password for 5 times and all af the new generated passwords are wrong.
Wilsoff was showing us the channel at the WADder forums, and it appears that everyone so far can’t install the channel with your channel installer. I myself have used IOS202 to install, and it refuses to install… any idea how to fix it?
Kudos for the great work, this at least gets me one step closer to a Wii media player that other people (the technophobes in my life) can actually use.
Doesn’t seem to work with my SDHC card. Installs onto the menu fine, but it says “Cannot find a valid SD/USB device”, black screens, and resets the Wii. WiiMC works fine in Homebrew Channel however.
Same problem here. Installed, looks good on the menu, when I select it ind choose start, the screen goes black and then quickly returns to the Wii menu. 🙁
Where is the forwarder?
What do you mean? It’s in the Channel.
Nice! HBO FTW
sorry, didn’t read the full sentence… thanks
The channel blackscreens on exit for me.
Great, thanks for the Channel.
Thanks for the good work

@driverx
I’ve trashed your account.
@tantric, thank you, i’ve registered again and all is working fine 🙂
Keeps telling me it can’t install. would this have anything to do with the vulnerable IOS I use being, cIOS 202v4 merged 60?

This is coolest thing ever happened to my WII! NFS support would be great. How about DLNA? Ok that’s too much…
it wont install for me ether same thing cant install

Try setting the exit action to “Return to Wii Menu” in global settings. It helped me avoiding the black screen and actually returning to Wii Menu.
It keep telling me ‘Can’t install’ on my PAL Wii.

i have the same problem. the installer is looking for an ios. it chose ios202 and after pressing install it says “nothing installed”.
Love it. Installed on my PALL Wii using ios38 without issue. Nice animation as well. Great work.
For the record; I asked for this first in the suggestion area… go me. *silent applause to self*
This rocks! My Wii now streams everything perfectly from the PC!
WiiMC Channel Installer was re-uploaded 119 minutes ago. The XML says its the same original installer. Is this a new release or the same one?
…… also the boot.dol MD5 isn’t the same….. so its a different file.
I’ve modified the installer to avoid using 202 for the install since some people were having troubles with that.
Thanks for the info. So does that make this v1.0.1 or does it remain the same v1.0 as per xml
Same channel, not different. Just a small change to the installer for those having troubles.
When i go into Cinema WiiMc and try to play a movie, it says error loading. Is there anything i can do to fix that?
When I launch the WiiMC channels it just resets my wii, but it works fine when I launch WiiMC from homebrew. Anybody familiar with this problem?
@doorknob12
I have the same problem, tried reinstalling de channel, but is doesn’t work. Any help?
Same problem here. Installed, looks good on the menu, when I select it ind choose start, the screen goes black and then quickly returns to the Wii menu. 🙁
same problem here… Installed without a problem, but now i try to open the channel and after load goes back to the wii channel selection.
Still no corrections on the channel?! Guess i’m gona keep launching it from the homebrew…
i downloaded it from the homebrew browser and tried to install it and it says “cant use NAND” or something like that. it wont work :/
channel does the same for me…brings me right back to the menu
Me too. Resets Wii! Help.
Found out how to get around the reset problem.
I think the installer is buggy!!
If you download the .wad from:-
http://wadder.freeforums.org/post749.html#p749
And install it with Wad Manager, it works perfectly!
Hope this helps some of you.
