Congrats on an excellent piece of software. If you could, for your next update, load a DVD menu from a VIDEO_TS folder, I would be in heaven…

    Hey guys! Great project.
Had problems with video sync, drop-outs, crashes and DVD problems in 1.02 and 1.03 (tried update installs, and fresh installs) so had to roll back to 1.01 (and ignore the constant update notification.) Will keep an eye on updates and roll-up once things look stable again.
Nonetheless, fantastic work. Beautiful front-end for MPlayer!

i am not a “kiss-ass” type of person…ever… i use a lot of homebrew applications across several different systems…but i can honestly tell you that this one stands with the very few that i proactively seek-out and wish for updates for. this thing is a treat, it is a blessing…and we (despite there being a few whiny kids about) absolutely love it. the user-interface is great, mplayer has always been great, the OSD in this is great…everything that is here works well together. now if we can get the ability to span multiple video files on playback automatically, or that nifty + playlisting method the audio player has for video playback… 😛

Thank you very much for the prompt update.

1.0.3 is the first version where I have achieved some level of functionality within the app. The speed at which the bug fixes were implemented is top notch. Bravo!

I am loving this wiibrew application! Definately the best Media Player out of all the rest! I’ve already recommended it to 3 of my friends who also rave on about it!

I wish the Wii had more power though. But keep up the great work!

** Excellent Job ** The design and the functionality are very good. I started with V1.03 without any problem. The menu and the button logic is also very good.

One point: How can I change the volume of the speaker in the music menu? Within the video menu it works with the – and + button.

WiiMC is great, except I’ve recently been having audio sync issues with DVDs…both retail and homemade (home movies and such). The audio is ahead when Frame Dropping is on Auto or Disabled, and if I put it on Always, then the audio gets all distorted and slowed to about 50% normal speed. Specific retail examples are Spirited Away and Dr Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog (which is awesome…I highly recommend it to anybody who hasn’t seen it yet…it’s on Netflix, available for instant play on the Wii!). I’ve reinstalled IOS202 with the WiiMC installer with no change, as well as WiiMC itself. Also, setting the DVD Menu option to Skip to Main Title seems to break it…the DVD never loads, well, not within any reasonable time frame anyway.

WiiMC is great, but there still have problem on showing subtitle of Chinese. Because I can’t found the right code page in the setting. Normally Chinese codepage will be used as followed:

    936 gb2312 Chinese Simplified (GB2312)
    950 big5 Chinese Traditional (Big5)

Without this codepage the subtitle only the gabege word. Hope to fix this problem on next version

Hey I forgot to mention that the only way to disable auto-update checking is to clear the wii’s internet settings. I think there should be a config option for that to save users the hassle. If you really don’t want people turning it off, then maybe you could just quietly add a line in the config file without putting a way to set it from the gui options menu?

Quick question: Is there a way to quick rewind a movie file to the beginning like MPlayer CE did using the 2 and – buttons? I know I can just try selecting the beginning of a video using the bar at the bottom, but a quicker way would be better. 🙂

I had been looking for such an app… and you’ve made it…
Everything works just fine, except that I can’t read *.mp4 files but it’s not a big problem, i’ll have to convert my videos in order to watch theM.

Thanks a lot for your work

works great! Finally an MC brew for the wii.. gives new life to it!

¡Congratulations! WiiMC is amazing!! I spent one year waiting for the first GUI version, and now It’s here 😉 And my expectations was satisfied complety.

But it’s a pity, that at least for me the only version that is stable for wifi samba reproduction is MPlayer-CE 0.76. All the other (including WiiMC 1.0.3), crash at a minimum of two times during a wifi film playback.

So, with tears in my eyes, I must use MPlayer-CE 0.76 by the moment. 🙁
