    I have searched for mkv on this and wiihacks site seeing if anyone else experienced this issue or it is known.
    When I have wiimc open a .mkv clip, the audio is spot on, but the video starts to lag within seconds, not stutter, but just very slow, like half speed. All the other .avi encoded as xvid, etc work fine.

    Any ideas?

    What codec are you using. Mkv is just a container that can hold video codecs, but it doesn’t affect video playback.

    Yeah, would like to play mkv files… I know there is thread called transcoding that is talking about using VLC media player… IF anyone has figured this out, please post it.

    .mkv files within the allowable parameters will play fine.

    I am continuing to work on a solution using VLC that will transcode HD files on the PC into allowable parameters so they will play on the WII.
