    Hi to everybody,

i installed WiiMC on my Wii and it looks very good.

But I have a problem to connect to my shares placed on a Windows Server 2003. I type in the correct ip, sharename, user and passwort. But everytime i try to connect, I’ll get the message “Cannot connect to network share”.

I can see the Wii at my LAN and can alos ping them from the server. Also the User has read/write permission to the share.

I search all topics here at the forum but found nothing to solve my problem. Does anyone have an idea ???

    Greetings,
    dboxnewbie

Check security as well as sharing. On W7 I had to allow “Everybody” permissions on both.

I was having the same issue on my setup (win7 64) until I realized quite by accident that WIIMC can only connect to my share if I open the target folder on my desktop. Couldn’t tell you why it works like that but so far that’s been the only way I can crowbar it into submission.

You might want to check these out, the first fixed it for me. Ignore the Mac title, this works for anything non-windows.
