    I thought I’d make a little post about 1.05.
@Tantric you might remember me from this post.
    http://www.wiimc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=302

Earlier this week catching up with things I thought I’d try 1.04. Also I thought if I can’t play any media I’ll use the IOS202 installer. It reached that point but I was told I had no exploitable IOS so installation failed.
My Wii is still at 3.3U just as it was in my previous thread.
Seeing 1.05 earlier I thought I’d try again and now it’s playing a standard definition video which is on the SDHC card with no problems. I didn’t even have to try your IOS202 installer.
Coming on here now I noticed the news post about major issues with 1.05. I finally have WiiMC working and I read that. I’m going to have a better read to understand the major issues but to cut it short should I stop using WiiMC?

Whatever thanks for all you work Tantric. Great to have a media player with libwiigui.

It’s not like it’s going to hurt your Wii or anything. That’s just on there because people are complaining about USB2 not working, crashing, subtitles not working, etc. Perhaps they’re blowing it out of proportion – I don’t know. 1.0.5 works fine for me personally, and that’s the best I can offer.

When i went to open WiiMC a few min’s ago it asked me to update, so i did. When i went back into it…it did not recognize my HDD either, so i came to the site, read up like Tantric said to do, went to the download page, and got the new IOS 202 installer and updated the 202 from the old to the new and now it works like a charm for me…so everyone that is complaining that your having problems…It’s that easy…Just learn to read directions properly and presto…………….EVERYTHANG BE OK!!!!

Thanks Tantric…Keep up the excellent work man and thanks for all your time for us to be able to have this awesome program!!!!

I think everyone complaining that it doesn’t work and this and that OWE OUR MAN TANTRIC A BIG WHO RA!!!!

    @ cajnape

Are you saying that I’m complaining?

If so then you really need to read my original post that I linked to here and then re-read, or should that be read properly, my post here.

To cut it short I’m happy playing low bit rate movies from SDHC directly and have no need for USB support. But I do have an IOS with USB support from when I tried the Freespace 2 Wii port. It seemed to be interfering with WiiMC and playing movies from SDHC card for some reason but with 1.05 it’s not. I’ve never installed the IOS202 from this site.

Believe me bud I fully appreciate the work that is done by people like Tantric. I ditched Windows for Linux 5 years ago and totally appreciate the free software that is provided.

And if you’re not saying I’m complaining then maybe you should be careful in which thread you say things.

    Edit
Actually I’m not finished with you. Quote

So it works for you so it should work for everybody else? I understand very little about coding and how the Wii works but when I say I started with the CP/M OS where the last release was 1982 and have used computers ever since then you can imagine that in around 30 years I’ve picked up a little. I’m tempted to do this in caps but that’s just wrong but I’ll add – what works for one does not mean it will work for the other.
