First of all thanks to WiiMC my Wii is more than a simple game console (Don’t understand why Nintendo just didn’t think about Wii more than a console).
I just wanna know if playing original movie DVDs with WiiMC it could affect the drive (damage it) or any other component of the console like the memory or CPU.
I actually use WiiMC 1.0.6 i have installed the last CIos 202 version, I tried to use WiiMC 1.0.9 with the IOS58 but it always says that the DVD is not valid, any sugestion about this.
Newer versions of Wii hardware only support DVD ‘original’, ie, no DVD-R, DVD-RW, or other formats.
Furthermore, it is recomendable to watch videos from a pendrive, SD card or via SMB. Although the DVD is supported, I avoid this feature to not reduce the life of the drive (which is already quite required to run games).
