Okay, so for one reason or another, I cannot seem to open up recently converted MP3 files off my Kingston 8GB SDHC card. I recently added some files that were in .spc700 format, and then converted it via Lame MP3 encoder to 320kbps (that’s the only MP3 bitrate Foobar2000 gave me for conversion), then I put them on my SD card. Well, whenever I load the files on WiiMC, the file loads, and then the message “Failed to open file!” appears on the screen. Okay…. 😕 I’ve used Foobar2000 in the past to do the same conversion (320kbps) and the files worked fine. Maybe I encoded them at 128 or 224kbps and just don’t remember. Is this a limitation of WiiMC or what? Doesn’t it support 320kbps bitrates for MP3 files? 😯

    System Info:
    Wii System Menu – 3.4U
    Homebrew Channel – 1.0.8
    WiiMC – 1.1.0
    SDHC Card – Kingston
    Capacity – 7.68GB
    FAT32 file system

This was a reported bug, now fixed in svn627. Either compile the svn or wait for next release.

Ah, gotcha. Perhaps I’ll wait till 1.1.1.
