Any WiiMC version after 1.4 (I think) doesn’t work with the channel. It has to be loaded using HBC or it freezes. I can’t find a way to fix this, I’ve read that some people are able to fix it by using the .wad file for the 1.6 channel. Can anyone help?
January 2, 2011 at 8:33 am #28138rodriesKeymasterWhat do you mean, freezes? If you mean that you are stuck on the “Loading…” screen, that’s the channel freezing – you need to update to the latest version.
January 2, 2011 at 2:03 pm #28139megaxsParticipantI do have the latest version. I got 1.6 channel installed and i’m running the latest WiiMC 1.1.1 and it just hangs on that screen that says “Loading”.
Sorry about my first post I was rushed, but let me explain what I mean. I used every updated channel installer you released since the 1st. It started freezing around Channel Installer 1.5 & WiiMC 1.0.9 and every release since then. However, if I go back to WiiMC 1.0.8 & Channel Installer 1.4 I can run the app using the channel with NO freeze. I would just use the 1.0.8 version but this HDD I recently bought doesn’t work with anything but version 1.1.1. Thats my issue, its not problem to have to run it through the HBC but running using the channel again would be nice.
BTW, been around the Wii softmodding scene since the Twilight Hack was released early 2008. I have to say by far your one of the best. I think I have about everything you’ve made on my Wii. Love the emulators & the channels for them as well, can’t wait to see a SNES9x channel installer. 😀

January 6, 2011 at 3:22 pm #28141ksevioParticipantI have exactly the same problem and I don’t know how to fix it.
January 11, 2011 at 3:54 pm #28142megaxsParticipantFound a fix for this, download and install this WAD and it will no longer freeze on the “Loading…” screen.

January 11, 2011 at 4:10 pm #28143rodriesKeymasterHow did you fix it?
January 11, 2011 at 4:43 pm #28144megaxsParticipantThis is a WAD file for your 1.6 channel. There are 2 ways to fix this, one is to install the HBC under IOS58 the other is to install this WAD file under IOS249 and it no longer has the freezing issue.
I posted it on my site and linked it to there but if its against the rules or something i’ll upload it as an attachment.
January 11, 2011 at 5:10 pm #28145rodriesKeymasterDid you have the 1.6 channel installed before, or some other version? Old versions of the channel forwarder are incompatible, which is the known reason for hanging on “Loading…”.
Were you just having problems using the installer because it requires HBC running under IOS58?
Are you saying you didn’t alter the channel at all, you just installed it a different way?
January 11, 2011 at 5:39 pm #28146megaxsParticipantYes I had 1.6 installed via the installer and it would hang on loading.
The installer worked fine for me personally but for people who can’t install the channel using the installer must reinstall HBC under IOS58.
I did create the WAD myself but as for any special alterations, no its just a forwarder WAD file with your animated Banner & Icon. If you install the WAD file using IOS58 in WAD manager it will still freeze, so I believe there is where the problem lies. However, if you install the WAD file using IOS249 it does NOT freeze.
Both methods are confirmed working by at least 5 people on my forums.
Heres the link again if anyone needs it
