    Hi there,

I’m trying to get connected to my Freecom NAS as a SMB.
My current situation works perfectly, which is: SMB Share to my laptop > shared folder @ laptop > play movies etc.

I bought a NAS so I can simply put all my media on there and use wiimc to connect to the NAS, but I have some problems with it.

What I AM able to do is:

+Connect from any pc with Windows XP, Vista or 7 without any problems (no login to NAS needed).
    +Connect via FTP with user/pass.

    What I want is:

Connect directly to my NAS (connected to router) via SMB.
    The NAS:

    -Admin interface needs password.
    -FTP needs password.
-SMB doesnt need password from laptop/pc.

For some reason I can connect to it via FTP, but then I’m not able to play my subtitles with the according movie. When I try to connect to it via SMB I just get a connection error message.

I hope someone can help me out on this, because I haven’t been able to get my NAS working with WiiMC as I hoped it would work.

    Thanks for reading.

I don’t have a NAS, but wondering what are you using for “Share Name” in WiiMC? I would guess that it should be set to a name of a directory in the root of the NAS?

Like in Windows you would use any of the names like in the below folder structure.
