    Hi folks,
    So forums arnt my style and i can usually figure stuff out with uncle google but this problem has eluded me. I have FINALLY got my wiimc to “work” after all the trials and tribulations with install and and soft modding and it picks up my SMB server! Now the problem lies in that now if i’m using the internet or vent on my PC(hardwired) and i have a movie streaming on my tv all of a sudden after 5 minutes my computers internet connection shuts down and my movie stops (both my wireless and cable work fine) and im not exactly sure where the problem lies. i have to reboot my computer to make it pick up the internet connection again 🙁 Im only running AVG as a virus scanner and my wii has an internet connection and access through any firewalls…
    im completely updated with versions 1.2.2 of wiimc, 1.0.8/ios58 of homebrew/wiibrew, and my wii is 4.3
    Any help would be great, this doesnt look like a common problem since i couldnt find too much about it on the web. if there is anything info i left out please just say so and ill try to fill in the blanks!
    thanks for your time!

    So it looks like i was getting a “the default gateway is not available” error (found the error when i ran the internet trouble shooter to reconnect my PC to the internet).
    So after some searching i found these 3 tips; applied them all and now everything works great!
    So im posting this information for anyone else that has these problems that maybe this can help out.
    Good luck to the rest of you out there and enjoy your media server!!!!

    What are the methods to solve default gateway problems in Windows 7?

    Gateways are generally used in network connections. They are needed for an Internet connection. A gateway will contain devices like protocol translators, converters, impedance matching devices and signal translators. Gateways will interconnect networks with different network protocol technology. When there is a lot more traffic that is going through the Ethernet port, then normal browsing and downloading will create this issue. This will generally occur with two applications like GoodSync and Evernote. After this issue the network connection will just stop. You will not be able to connect the computer to the Internet. Most of these issues are caused by the network adapter present on the motherboard. Windows 7 is the latest operating system released by Microsoft.

    Here are the tips to solve default gateway not available in Windows 7:

    * Disable Task Offload
    * Update network card drivers
    * Change Speed and Duplex

    Disable Task Offload:
    First, click on the Windows ‘Start’ button that is present at the bottom left of your display. Then you have to type ‘Device Manager’ in the ‘Search’ box. Then click on the ‘Device Manager’ entry that will appear in the list under Control Panel to launch it. Then you have to find and expand the network adapters group. After that, just right click on the entry for the adapter name. Then go to ‘Advanced’ tab in ‘Properties’ dialog box and select ‘Task Offload’. You have to set its value to ‘off’ and press ‘OK’.

    Update network card drivers:
    Sometimes by updating the drivers for a network card, you can solve the issue. Before doing that you have to make sure that the driver that you have installed is in working condition. If it gets corrupt, that might create issues. Sometimes viruses present in the system will cause the corruption of drivers. You need to install the best antivirus software in the system as well.

    Change Speed and Duplex:
    You have to click ‘Start’ and type ‘devmgmt.msc’ in the ‘Start Search’ box and press Enter. Then double click ‘expand Network adapters’ and then click ‘Properties’ of network card. In the ‘Advanced’ tab you have to select ‘Speed and Duplex’ and change the value to 100MB. If the issue persists, you have to select ’100MB full’. You can also try to boot the system to “Safe mode with Networking”.
