Okay because I figured I was just an idiot I have been sitting here for 20 minutes trying to sync the subtitles to a 22 minute show.
Does this actually work for anybody? First of all I opened the srt file in notepad and it shows that the first line should appear 6 seconds in if there is no delay set. When I run the show, I can hear him say that line at 6 seconds! So the subtitles should not need any synching in the first place. On the wii the subtitles begin to appear around 16 seconds in.
SO I went ahead and put the delay to -10. Holy I have no idea where the subtitles are now it seems like they are displaying dialogue from 2 full minutes into the show now when I’m still at 6 seconds. So then I thought maybe the – is actually delaying the video/audio and not the subs. Ok so I put it up to +5. They are even further into the show! I put it back to 0 and it’s back to being 10 seconds off. I’m confused as hell and I gave up now my girlfriend is bitching at me and I have to try and actually sleep instead of watching some nice Tv Beore bed.
So has anyone figured this out? I’m at the version before the latest. 1.2.2 I think. Has this been fixed in the new version? Does adding a minus (-) in front make the subs appear sooner? Which would make sense.
Thanks I might just copy to a USB for now and use the subtitle delays that the tv has built in cuz this is getting on my nerves. The video also buffers a few times (always no matter what. I have a dlink wireless n router and don’t know why) could the buffering be throwing everything even further off?
