Accessing shares

Using WiiMC’s normal method of streaming audio/video via smb, I can access the two shares I have (Music folder and Video folder). The issue is when using VLC Shares, I can access the Video folder share but not the Music one. I’m thinking it may be due to the music folder having many many more subfolders, but I’m not really sure on that. Further more, is the root of a hard drive inaccessible through VLC Shares? I have that set up the same way as the working Video folder, but it returns with an error message. I’m using WiiMC version 1.1.1 and used the easy install/setup guide for VLC shares; thanks for the help m/

Yes. Root folders cannot be shared when installing vlc-shares in windows: https://code.google.com/p/vlc-shares/issues/detail?id=8

I’ll solve this bug for 0.6/0.5.3 release.

Anyway, for your “music folder problem”: the number of sub folders shouldn’t be a problem (or… i think so), but everything is possible. There’s a timeout of 60 seconds waiting for page in wiimc. If you have so many folders maybe this time limit isn’t enough or php exceeded memory limits.

Did you try to browse the folder in browser mode?
