i cant get smb working.. im on windows 7 and firewall is off i setup a sharing folder entitled videos. then i got my ip from command prompt 192.168.1.4 and configured it in wiimc and it still dosent work.. i wanted to do the smb share because if i cant get my dvd’s working its something right. please help

You also need to set security for Everyone

I would try going to Network and Sharing Center / Advanced Sharing / then:

Turn on Network Discovery
Turn off password protected sharing

You also need to setup the Security Tab under explorer to include Full Access to the group Everyone

This should fix your issue. Reply back if it does not.
