    Hi,

I have an issue where the last few AVI files I have tried go out of sync after about 20 minutes. The AVI is loaded via ethernet and homeplugs from an SMB share on a NAS and plays fine when watched on my PC.

[ specs of one, for example, are 25 FPS, Video: 1712 Kbps, Audio: 384 Kbps, Resolution: 720×400, Audio Output: AC3 5.1, Video Output..: AVi and Video Code: XviD all of which appear to be supported by WiiMC ]

Is this the audio/video desync bug (i am running 1.0.9) or something else ?

    TIA for any help.

    Regards,

    Adam Brunt

I have never had an Xvid go oout of sync. It is happening to me on AVC codecs over 640 wide or more than 500kbps but thats probably a WII limitation. Its also strange that it takes 20 minutes to happen. Is it all XVIDs or just one specific one? I also note that you have indicated your XVID has AC3 audio, whereas most XVIDs use MP3, so is it happening on only on AC3 XVIDs?

It is not all DivX/XVid’s just some. And others with AC3 sound play fine.

For testing purposes I installed the beta upgrade (that allegedly fixes the sync issue with 1.0.9) and this, so far, seems to have fixed the problems I was having.

Apparently the 1.0.9 release was a bad compile which created the sync problem. I assume the beta was a good compile which fixes it, but strangely the beta was removed and the bad 1.0.9 release was not replaced, so unless you grabbed the beta you are SOL, unless you do your own compiles (which I do)

That’s because there’s still other bugs to be worked out. I’m not going to be promoting a build that can corrupt USB hard drives for example – like that beta was doing for me (due to a libogc bug, not a WiiMC one). When a new release is ready, it will be released – as stated on the homepage.
