Connecting WiiMC and FreeNAS with SMB

Can anyone offer help with how to set up WiiMC with FreeNAS SMB? I can connect with FTP, most of the time, but sometimes WiiMC gets lost in the FTP server filestructure.

It just seems like there isn’t enough settings in WiiMC to connect to FreeNAS SMB> thanks in advance.

I wonder if this is the same Samba Problem I has with a linkstation running Debian.
I think it has something to do with UTF-8 support. Versions of WiiMC before 1.04 seem to work ok with older versions of Samba. Newest versions seem to work better with newer versions of Samba
