hi, I use this great app on my daughters wii so she can watch DVD’s in her room. It has been working quite well up until the 1.1.9 update. Now i am getting the error message above “DVD Playback is Not Supported on This Wii”

The strange thing is we have been playing DVD using wiimc on this wii for months before. Im not sure how wiimc identifies newer model non-dvd playing wii but the serial on the wii is LAH114741363

    Thanks

If DVD used to work for you and doesn’t now (“DVD playback is not supported on this Wii” error), run this tester and report back the results:

    http://www.wiimc.org/files/drive-id-tester.zip

Important: If DVD playback doesn’t work for you on 1.1.8 and below, it also won’t work on any future version. Please don’t report your results. I only want results from people who can confirm that DVD playback was properly working on 1.1.8.

Same issue, exact same results from drive id tester as posted above.

DVD playback still works in MPlayer CE & other methods.

Thanks for looking into this, really dig your product!

i can confirm DVD playback on 1.1.2 (cuz that’s the only prior version i could find on my old SD cards…) …version 1.1.9 wants nothing to do with DVD’s….

i got the same problem, actually i update to 1.2.0 version, but doesn’t fix the dvd issues, maybe a problem with cios incompactibility? because it was working good the dvd playback after version 1.1.9, y really don’t use it frecuently, but if some day i want to see data from dvd drive, or dvd movie, cuz i have my vids streaming by wifi from my pc, but knowing that i have this problems, it feels like i have no all the funtions working good.

Also that drive test doesn’t work either, maybe if the programmers could made a patch for this problem, because i still having problems after update it to version 1.2.0, and they said, the problem was fixed with that realese.

    I hope u response me.

If the drive test isn’t working, that means:

    – you’re not running on the latest HBC
    – or HBC isn’t running on a compatible IOS. IOS58 is your best bet.
    – you’re missing AHBPROT (eg: if you didn’t unzip the test directly to your apps/ folder)
