I’m not quite a total noob, but I would like to know without having to read 20,000 posts…
Is there such thing as playing (actual/true/production) DVD Movies on a brand new Wii 4.3U
with WiiMC??? I keep reading elsewhere on the internet that Nintendo has successfully
locked up the DVD drive on the 4.3U Wiis, and that there is currently no way to play DVD’s.
Can I get this confirmation RIGHT from the creator? – Does it in fact NOT work on new 4.3 Wii’s???
Last week I modded an older 4.2U Wii, and “everything” works including WiiMC.
Today I have been trying for hours to get/install WiiMC that will successfully play a DVD.
So far – no matter what sort of disc I insert all I get is:
Error
Invalid DVD
[Retry] [Cancel]
(This happens AFTER the drive spins up for a second or 2. It looks like it is at least TRYING…)
I have the latest everything. The mod and all the latest software came from wiihacks.com , and all the software downloaded was the latest – downloaded today.
Also, is WiiMC intended to be able to play Avi/Mpg/Mp4/JPG/MP3 from Data DVD’s?
…That too does not work, which would confirm that Nintendo locked up the drive.
