Every DVD is read "Invalid DVD"

I just downloaded this and it will not read any of my dvds straight out of the box, whhhys?

Are you using HBC 1.1.8 ?
Are you using IOS58 ?
Does “out of the box” mean store bought DVD’s, as in movies?

If it says Invalid DVD, then yes to both. Quite likely the problem here is his Wii has one of the new drives with the DVD Video commands removed – manufactured in late 2009 onwards.

I’m using homebrew 1.0.8. How do i findout if its IOS58? I downloaded homebrew from http://bootmii.org/download/ and installed bootmii using boot2. And yes meaning store bought dvd movies. I bought my wii in like 06 but i just got it back from nintendo a few weeks ago cuz it was showing an error message and couldnt read disks at all…

More than likely they replaced the drive with a new one, which means you can’t play DVDs on it anymore.
