WiiMC is pretty cool (v1.0.3). But one thing I DON’T like about it that it *always* reverts to my last used video folder when I start it up.

Granted, “remember the last folder” can be useful to people who watch tv series with 20 episodes in 1 folder or for people who dump all video/movie files into 1 folder, but I don’t typically download tv shows, and I don’t know about you but I typically watch a movie in one sitting. And as I put each movie I rip or download into its own folder in my “Movies” folder on my networked drive, I don’t want to find myself in that folder next time I start up WiiMC.

This is especially so if the last thing I watched was porno and then today my gf has friends come over to watch some soap opera or chick flick or something she’s downloaded! 🙄 😆

So what I’m trying to say is that the ‘remember’ setting should be an OPTION.

In the ‘Settings-Videos’ section there is a “Videos Files Folder’ item. I had hoped that:
    – if I left it blank then when I started up WiiMC next time, on the Videos page, I’d be at the root – ie: the screen listing all current devices. (Instead, I find myself in the last used video folder).
    – if I entered “smb1:/” in the “Videos Files Folder”, then it would always start up right there, at the root of “smb1:/”. (Instead, it’s “smb1:/Movies/FolderOfLastMovieThatIWatched).

Am wondering how this could be best implemented…
    – would it be possible to have “remember last folder used” : “On | Off”
.. and if it’s set to “off” then that would enable a previously greyed-out item below it: “set startup folder:”

In my case, I would want to type “smb1:/” there.

I thought this too. Posted it into the feature section

I proposed that there was an option to have that address as dynamic or static.
I have a lot of folders organising my videos and music and think it would be great to be fixed.
I don’t think it would be a massive thing to impliment but I am no coder.

Great work Tantric I love WiiMC
