is youtube still working??

was using it yesterday and today it wont play any youtube videos, im guessing something changed???

Yeah. It seems to be broken at the moment. Hope it’s fixed fast.

My guess would be YouTube’s page changed again. This means someone will need to modify WiiMC’s YouTube scraper accordingly. jhb50 has done this the past few times and submitted a patch, hopefully he’ll do it again.

I’ve looked at the code and it is OK.
The wiimc server however is not responding to youtube script requests so the problem is there.
eg: http://www.wiimc.org/media/youtube.php?q=shania
The enhanced youtube scripts in WIIMC+ work fine.
eg: http://localhost/youtubeplus/YouTubeVideoSearch.php?q=shania

wiimc.org’s YouTube scripts only return results to WiiMC – they don’t respond to requests from a web browser. Browsing is working okay, you can browse (or search), but when you click on a video, it doesn’t work. You have the same problem trying to go directly to a YouTube video link and bypassing wiimc.org entirely.

I have run it myself and the WiiMC scraping code is finding a URL to play, but that URL doesn’t work (either from within WiiMC or a browser). My guess is WiiMC is picking up the wrong URL or otherwise processing it wrong. 🙁

It has to be a change in youtube’s site.Both Wiimc and Wiimc+ will browse youtube showing links and thumbnails,but will not play any video feeds.Vlc-shares youtube plugin does the same thing,it stopped playing the same time Wiimc started acting up.So I suspect youtube has changed someting.

YouTube did alter their link map.

An updated boot.dol for WIIMC+V14C is posted at http://www.wiimc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1894&p=8279#p8279 and the revised source has been submitted to Tantric for inclusion in WIIMC.

For those of us who do not have wiimc+ yet, the standard wiimc install has also been updated thanx to jhb50 and youtube is indeed working once again. thank you! 😀

Based on feed back from Tantric, pointing out a possible error in my patch, which he has corrected in the WIIMC 1.3.1 release, I have posted a V14D update for WIIMC+ to correct this error.
