I love this format. It comes in .bin and .cue files. I used to rip all my films in this format for safe keeping and streaming purposes.

wiimc probably can play the file just fine, it just doesn’t recognize the .bin and .cue files associated with KVCDs.

    Please try the following:

    1) rename the cue file to .mpg, and try to play it. Does it play?
    2) delete the cue file. rename the bin file to .mpg, and try to play it. Does it play?

Let me know the results, then we’ll see about adding extensions 🙂

A “KVCD” is nothing more than a “pimped” mpeg1/mpeg2 video file.
Wiimc will play them… i just checked the kvcd samples and they all played fine.

This “KVCD” file can have the following extensions: mpg, mpeg, m1v, m2v, vob, dat;… depending how you store it.
The filetype .bin/.cue suggests it is an image of a “KVCD” – DVD/VCD/SVCD
So either burn it or extract the files.

Google seems to suggest that mplayer might play the bin/cue just as it is – sort of like it plays iso without the files extracted. So that’s why I want him to try it 🙂
