Hi there, I recently installed wiimc 1.0.9 from scratch. I have a USB 2.0 HDD which I formatted to be compatible with my mac. I don’t know how the format is called, I know it’s not FAT32 and pretty sure it’s not NTFS (you can tell I don’t know much about the topic, I’ve just been following the step by step guides).

WiiMc is running under ios58 and reads the sd card without any dramas. I can also go online and can’t read dvd’s since mi wii has that chip nintendo put in it to try and avoid backups.

If anyone could tell me how to get WiiMc to detect and load movies from my HDD it’d be awesome. I’m pretty sure the problem is the format, but if I format my HDD as FAT32 then I can’t really use it with my macbook pro, I’m pretty sure it’s read only.

    Thanks a lot

but i would try earlier releases of wiiMC before you go formatting your HDD
some issues with 1.0.9 are being ironed out at the moment.

WiiMC only supports NTFS and FAT32. Those are your choices.

The Mac format is HFS+, not readable by WiiMC. Fat32 is not read only on mac, Ntfs is the one that is read only.

So format to Fat32 and use it on wii, windows and mac.

There used to be a 128 gig limit on fat32 for mac a few years ago.. Don’t know if that still applies. If it does just make a few partitions. One for Mac, one for wii etc.
