New to wiimc. Hello!

Hi everyone! I have had a home brew enabled wii for quite sometime now, but haven’t really ever used it for wiimc until yesterday. My roommates and I decided a while back to save money and cancel our cable bill, only to use the wii as or tv entertainment. While Netflix is great, it has a lot of crap that needs to be waded through before finding something worth watching. I decided to try to figure out a way to give my roommates access to all of my pcs media and began a search. I first used orb’s mycast, since I’ve used it in the past, but I was greatly diapounted with it’s ui and functionality on the wii. I thought it wouldnt be possible for good quality streaming on wii, but I was wrong and already had what I needed installed, wiimc 1.0.5. I read up more on the site and update to the current version. After reading some tutorials and talking to glitch on irc, I setup wiimc smb fairly easily and quickly yesterday. I couldn’t be happier with the quality of your software and all the additional plugins available. I found out last night that the wii has problems with 720p+, but fortunately vlcshares seem to fix these issues. I also was able to get vlcshares setup after reading their wiki for sometime. Now with that issue solved, this has been a perfect setup for what we needed. I wanted to thank anyone who made wiimc possible. 🙂 It’s and amazing piece of software that made my roommates and I tv entertainment 1000x better. You made it extremely user friendly that even my fairly tech inept roommates can now stream and watch all of my media with ease.
