I have WiiMC 1.3.0 on my Wii and it works perfectly, with the exception that SMB passwords seem to be limited to 14 characters while my real password is 16 characters long. I originally configured it by editing settings.xml, but WiiMC was unable to connect to the server (an Airport Extreme with a Drobo plugged into it). When I went through the config menu, I noticed that my password was truncated to the first 14 chars and I was unable to enter any more.
I’ve worked around the problem by setting a temporary, shorter password but that’s not a good long-term fix for various reasons. Would it be hard to increase that limit? I’d almost rather build my own custom version than update the password on all the other computers on my network.
