Hello all,
After some testing I found out that USB DVD drives were not supported (crashes with both original and backupped movies when launching with a DVD in the drive and doesn’t recognize the drive if the DVD is inserted after the WiiMC is launched) 🙁
So what about adding USB DVD drive support?
Reasons to do so:
1. Make movies playable on Wii’s that have a D3-2 chipset.
2. Remove the limitations imposed by the Wii drive (reading speed; some movies stutter)
3. Make Blu-Ray playable when using a USB Blu-Ray drive…in the future…if the Wii is strong enough for it (it should be able to handle 720p AFAIK)?
It should be doable…it works when with other apps…
