OK reading sector. Device wake up OK!!We have a problem with your device. The only way to activate/initialize it doing an ios reload. In wiimc we can’t do an ios reload because we have tecnical problems in mem2. The only way to use your device in wiimc is deleting in metal.xml in wiimc folder but then you can’t use your dvd (if it’s an old dvd) and your device must be plugged before execute wiimc.
Do you have the channel installed?
Your device must work from channel if you use the last beta on this thread installed on sd and then you will have dvd access too
But you can’t unplug & plug your device.
Please tests my suggestions and commentJanuary 9, 2011 at 5:30 pm #27760spdParticipantTry this beta: http://www.mediafire.com/?zp4oytj5ebdb1w5
With that dol file my HD works pretty well, but now I want to use a patched version of wiimc and I would like to know which is the change you applied to that beta release in order to have my WD HD to work.
Reading this thread it looks like something to do with libogc…but can you tell me something more, please ?
In attach my log_usb.txt
thanks in advanceJanuary 9, 2011 at 7:10 pm #27761ASTUR2000Participant@rodries wrote:

Please tests my suggestions and commenti tried the channel with the latest beta, and it worked great thanks. I also tried to remove and start wiimc through hbc. I got another DSI Exception http://imgup.co.nz/1051. I do not know if it is related to your changes in the beta
January 10, 2011 at 3:25 am #27762sickpuppyParticipantMy External HDD have always worked with wiimc and I also use it with wiiXplorer, usb loader gx, etc.
It is a Samsung S2 Portable 320GBLog_usb attached above…
Just hope they launch soon the new wiimc version with the u64 variable correction of file size in order to be able to play files larger than 4GB 😕

Can you explain when do you have the 4GB problem?
where have you heard the “u64 variable correction” ? link?
Have you tested latest beta on this thread?January 10, 2011 at 10:36 am #27764aka107Participant@pallbearer wrote:

So you have a DSI Exception when you run wiimc hbc & removed, rigth?
It’s strange
Can you retry?
Do you have a usbgecko? (to debug)January 10, 2011 at 2:16 pm #27765Dag WieersParticipantnew test with 1.12
at least it tries again too wakeup the hdd 🙂January 10, 2011 at 2:55 pm #27766aka107Participant@turley wrote:

You can cancel wake up test, I’m trying to fix unplug&plug issue. I want to detect your device properly.January 10, 2011 at 3:19 pm #27767Dag WieersParticipantbest regards

Do you have a usbgecko? (to debug)Excactly, i get a DSI Exception if i start your latest wiimc-beta through bhc with removed and my Samsung HDD connected.
I retried and was able to reproduce it. If i unplug my Samsung i get no DSI Exception => therefore i think my HDD is causing the problems. Wiimc starts correct if i retry it a few times (no repeatable pattern noticeable).
Unfortunatly i do not own a usbgecko.January 10, 2011 at 10:00 pm #27769AnonymousInactiveI don’t know if it makes sense but… I tried to run the USB Test app (1.11 and 1.12) on an external USB DVD drive. Unfortunately I got an exception after the first test and no log. Any idea?

Have you tested latest beta on this thread?I have this problem when I try to play videos larger than 4GB either on a USB HDD in NTFS or via SMB (No FAT32 system is used at all). In fact, it plays the video but shows a wrong length and only play until this length, so you can only watch a part of the video.
I knew about that possible solution in the issue that I reported at the tracker: http://www.wiimc.org/tracker/index.php?do=details&task_id=294
Tantric said that the variable that stores the filesize is a 32bit integer and should be a 64bit integer in order to store the filesize number correctly. And no, I didn’t compile the latest sources of Wiimc to test this issue, the latest version that I tested was Wiimc 1.1.1, that is why I am hoping you to launch the new version soon… 😉

Try this compiled version & report: http://www.mediafire.com/?zp4oytj5ebdb1w5
Has been compiled with special flags to try to manage big files. -
