I am having a problem that is driving me crazy!
Background:
I have 2 WD nas file servers.
1x My Book World Edition (blue rings) 1TB http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=106&lang=en
and 1 x My Book World Edition II (white light) 2TB http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=118&lang=en
both have users with full privileges and the 1st one also has a guest account read only
I can access both nas with ip address and/or netbios names from a number of different computers (xp, win7, macos, ios),
Both NAS have the latest firmware
The problem:
WiiMC cannot connect to the 1st NAS (older) but can connect to the 2nd. I have tried login in as guest, as member, using ip address or hostname. No luck. It SEEMS AS IF the NAS is rejecting the login. I have tried creating new user, new shares, nothing.
The only clue i have is that when i had a similar problem accessing the 1st NAS from my iphone (using http://www.stratospherix.com/products/filebrowser/) i enabled NETBIOS under the connection’s advanced settings, although i was connecting using the ip address. With the option disabled i get “connection failed” (not timeout) similar to the problem with wiimc.
Any ideas?
