    Hi,

I’ve previously shared files across my network from a Windows XP PC to WiiMC with no problems.

My router is a (unlocked) BT home hub 2.0A which has a USB port, I’d like to be able to set up sharing a pen drive or external hard drive from this USB port across the network, so that don’t have to have the PC on.

I have a pen drive connected to the USB port on my router and can access the files on a wirelessly connected windows pc – Vista or XP. To access them I enter \192.168.1.253 in Windows Explorer, which then brings up a list of the files. No passwords are required.

To try and access the pen drive through WiiMC I’ve tried to set it up in a similar way to if I was sharing from a Windows PC – but with the IP address 192.168.1.253 however this doesn’t work. I’ve also tried setting it up as if it was an FTP, even placing the files in a folder, however could not get this to work either.

I left the username and password sections blank, and was unsure what port to use , so generally left that on default.

Can anyone help me out with this? or even which Protocol to use?

    cheers,

    Grim.
