I’ve recently upgraded my router, and now have a 2 TB drive running off my Linksys e3000 router. The drive is primarily for media I would generally access with WiiMC in my previous setup.
I’m running Win7 on one PC, WinXP on the other, and can see the shared drive on both.The Wii still has internet access, and the SMB shares work provided the shares are to a local drive on either of the 2 computers. I cannot however get the SMB share to see the 2 TB drive which is plugged in to the router.
I have given WiiMC the IP address of the drive, tried giving it the network user name in the SMB setup, but nothing works.
I am unable to take ownership of the drive using either PC to turn on Windows file sharing.
What am I missing? This is too perfect a setup for it not to work, or for someone else to have gotten it working.
