We have a problem with your device. The only way to activate/initialize it doing an ios reload. In wiimc we can’t do an ios reload because we have tecnical problems in mem2. The only way to use your device in wiimc is deleting in metal.xml in wiimc folder but then you can’t use your dvd (if it’s an old dvd) and your device must be plugged before execute wiimc.
Do you have the channel installed?
Your device must work from channel if you use the last beta on this thread installed on sd and then you will have dvd access too
But you can’t unplug & plug your device.
Please tests my suggestions and comment

i tried the channel with the latest beta, and it worked great thanks. I also tried to remove and start wiimc through hbc. I got another DSI Exception http://imgup.co.nz/1051. I do not know if it is related to your changes in the beta

Please try this new usb test program: http://www.wiimc.org/files/USB%20Test%201.12.zip
In the last test I do an ios reload. I think the ios reload will activate your device

I tried your new version, unfortunately it worked not like expected. I tried it 3 times:
The first time i got an DSI Exception: http://i.imgur.com/8KBTX.jpg
The second and third time the app worked but all tests failed

Bug Tracker: Issue #299 – Switch audio stream and switch subtitle broken

This leaves you with 3 possibilities:
1.use a revision older then 1.1 then you can change audio as described here
    2.wait for revision 1.2
3.compile your own version from svn; Expanded Windows Compile Guide

wasn’t that hard to find 😉

2.WD My Passport Essential 500GB: passed
    3.ChilliGreen 400GB: passed
4.SAMSUNG 250GB: failed (problem child from here) Mayby it helps you to know the drive works flawless in hbc?

    @rodries,
whatever you did to your latest Test-App versions (1.10, 1.11) made them unusable on all my 3 Wii’s. (the screen goes black an the wiimote turns off)
The Test-App (1.09) worked fine, but the log looked still the same as in my previous post

    Are you using power supply?
When you plug your device the wii can’t detect it, I’ve only seen this when an usb device need an external power supply

Normaly my USB-Drive dont need an external power supply. Altough im very sure my drive gets enough power, i can hear the HDD spin-up and both LEDs (power & data) are flashing, i already thought this might be an issue and tried the drive with an external power supply. Unfortunetly i get the same results.

P.S.: my drive does not have a real external power supply, but a second usb cable that i plugged into the upper wii usb port. I hope this is not an issue?!

Your 2.5HDD log is strange. Try again please, be sure to switch off & on when unplug, to reset your device, and wait about 10 secs before press A to be sure your device is up & spininng

I tried your suggestions, plus a few other combinations e.g. upper and lower usb port, on/off switching and/or unplugging of the HDD, increase of the waiting time (up to 30 secs), with and without USB-LAN Adapter. Unfortunately the results are always the same as in my previous log. I am using an Icy Box IB-250StU enclosure with an SAMSUNG HM250JI HDD inside.
