September 2, 2012 at 9:07 pm in reply to: WIIMC+V14 Enhancement Pack for WIIMC 1.3.0 @ SVN1061 #30416bobnabobParticipant
Yes it’s a lot of reading,This way everthing is documented. The quickest way to get it setup is to open the wiimc+v14-svn1061zip file. Inside is the quick install guide,READ This. The youtube+ has the modified .xml for youtube+ to work, and so on.Also easyphp is a must have.I suggest using the vlc-shares_v0.5.4 auto installer,or you can use a standalone easyphp server, this takes only minutes. All you are doing is serving web pages to the wii and the web pages scrape youtube for video feeds. last wiimc+ folder inside apps must have the name set to wiimc-plus with v14 .dol and modified .xml.
bobnabobParticipantHopefully ximarx will come back to the scene,or someone with some codeing skills.I’ve already tried messing with the plugins code. I just don’t have what it takes in my crayon box.You can tell he has put a lot of work into this project,I hope for the best.
bobnabobParticipantYou have to have the full Expansion pack and follow ALL Directions. He’s talking about swaping out .dol’s for wiimc+v14 only.Everything else has to be setup also.If these are all true for you than you have a problem with your server or your onlinemedia.xml isn’t modified correctly.
bobnabobParticipantI don’t think I would be so quick to blame the Wii’s Wifi.All-though you may be correct. I have personaly found mine to be pretty fast. The problems i have found many times to be true are problems instead with the wifi of the Router and/or network card on the Server PC.These are my personal findings,I have 3 Servers,The fastest being my slowest PC with eithernet cable to router/Wifi to Wii.2nd fastest: PC with D-link wireless adapter to router/Wifi to Wii.3rd and sometimes will crash is my fastest PC with linksystem wireless adapter to router/Wifi to Wii.Then i also used to have a cisco router that I couldn’t even get netflix to stream and threw it away.
bobnabobParticipantHi,Click the film icon before you browse your smb shared Dvd drive and see if your files show up inside the Video_TS. You may be browsing in music mode and they will not show up.All mine show up fine.
Try this!!bobnabobParticipantYes.You can update using the auto-update feature inside wiimc,or just download the latest version from the downloads section on this site.or using the homebrew browser. All are safe.
bobnabobParticipantHello,These are Great and work Perfect!! Thanx for your work.
p.s. If using the channel I made,Just rename these to “PLUS” and put them in the folders stated above.Works with “Real” and “Emulated Nand” .
bobnabobParticipantYou might try a Completey new, fresh copy of wiimc.Settings and such. Then setup new smb’s
August 18, 2012 at 2:21 am in reply to: Watch Megavideo,HD,Youtube w/ CC through WiiMC (VLCShares) #26482bobnabobParticipantI use Vlc-player v2.0.1 with vlc-shares b2 and have been since its release, with really no problems.
About your haveing to change tabs problem. Are you using wiimc or wiimc+ ??? Your wiimc is timing out before you are getting a reply from the server. In wiimc+ you can increase the time it waits before throwing an error message in wiimc+ settings.I haven’t really seen this problem with basic wiimc.
If using wiimc+ and still haveing to do the change tab thing after increasing the wait time,Then
This is how i get around it: Press “start stream” then after error message, press “options” Then press goto stream.
I’m not sure why,but wiimc+ seems to take longer either starting or connecting to streams through vlc-shares.August 14, 2012 at 6:02 pm in reply to: Watch Megavideo,HD,Youtube w/ CC through WiiMC (VLCShares) #26473bobnabobParticipantYes,I have found the same, watch directly works, but streamer is broken.I sent you beta2.Also You can use vlc-v2.0,but you must choose it in the dashboard while running the setup. It will let you pick, old vlc or vlc 2.0. Let me know if this works.Someone may need to file a bug report on the vlc-shares code page.
August 13, 2012 at 3:25 pm in reply to: Watch Megavideo,HD,Youtube w/ CC through WiiMC (VLCShares) #26476bobnabobParticipantOK,This helps alot.Since you are trying to stream and you know they play in vlc itself,Then i would try using the stream option in the veetle plugin. Also youtube, only certian videos in youtube will give you this option. If still no stream then i would suspect the beta version you are using is faulty.I also had problems with the beta3,so i reverted back to beta2.
It looks like beta2 is no longer a download option. If you would like to test the beta2 version then PM me your email and i can send you the zip file. You should just have to unzip the file and replace your vlc-shares folder with the 1 i send. Then just setup the dashboard again.
Otherwise i sugest a complete uninstall and reinstall vlc-shares/easyphp v5.4I’m pretty sure the change from vlc-shares v5.5b2 to 5.5b3 was in the streaming code directly. This adds to me thinking it is faulty.
August 13, 2012 at 4:10 am in reply to: Watch Megavideo,HD,Youtube w/ CC through WiiMC (VLCShares) #26478bobnabobParticipantNot knowing the type of video file or how your trying to play it,”streaming with vlc” or “Watch directly”.I can’t realy help you.The more info=the better your odds of finding the problem.Vlc,Vlc-shares,or a bad “File”.Does “The File” play in anything else.It should atleast play in the Vlc player,And yes,try your other plugins. This will help you find out if you even did the install right. The best plugins to check are,Youtube,Veetle,Hulu.
Also you would be better off to use vlc-shares dashboard and add the folder contaning your videos to the “Shared folders” section of vlc-shares.Instead of going through a long file tree each time you try an play it.bobnabobParticipantI’m not sure exactly how wiimc code checks for this, but i know you will get this message if your not in “ABPROT” mode, aka running under ios58.Maybe bad install”.I think the only way to know for sure is to open your wii and check your chipset.this is because some refurbished wii’s for canadia had some legs cut on the dvd drive chip to prevent reading movies.Thier is a website that can use your serial# and give you Guess-tamate.My wii has quit reading dvd’s severial times and has just needed the eye cleaned, but i have never got the “dvd drive incapatible” message.I only get a message saying “dvd read error” or “can’t read dvd” on such wii’s.If you have neogamma installed it can also tell if your drive is dvd capabile or not. You can also share your Pc dvd drive and read dvd’s with the smb function.
Edit: I meant to say: Some Referbished Wii’s imported to the USA from Canadia had legs cut on the chip and were covered with an epoxy to disable dvd playback and make it harder for people to soilder leads or jumpers back to it.
bobnabobParticipantI Second that this **Already Works**. Watching retail dvd with my “Shared Dvd Drive” as i type. Just make sure your wiimc is in video mode and open any “video-ts” folder.
Windows-7×64,ASUS DVD driveAugust 10, 2012 at 2:00 am in reply to: Watch Megavideo,HD,Youtube w/ CC through WiiMC (VLCShares) #26480bobnabobParticipantDid you use the auto-installer or do it manually? Is the file in your downloads you’re trying to play an actual file or a link to a file. Are none of the other sites working,or just some not working.it looks as if you only tried 2 different videos.need more info on what works and what does not,and what exactly you are trying to do,or watch.
