I think the problem is the channel forwarder is unique to an app called WIIMC and there is no source code to replicate it to initiate different copies of WIIMC named as different apps. If we could do this then each forwarder would have its own icon and open a modified WIIMC which would get the foldername from a file under that app, open it, play the videos and return to the WII menu. Home could also go to the WII menu with one press.
I can do the WIIMC mods and I’ve a query out to see if the forwarder source can be made available or better still a mod version that can open a specified app name. Perhaps others can help with that.
cadbuscaParticipantAre you looking to play specific videos or to autoplay a series of videos in a folder?
What do you want to happen when the playback is over?..I would guess you want to exit and return to the WIIMenu.
Do you want to be able to quit and return in the middle of playback?
Do you want to be able to play a YouTube playlist that you have created of appropriate videos?November 13, 2011 at 4:28 pm in reply to: Crash dumps since the last update – Sample file included #29483cadbuscaParticipantI had problems losing settings as well so I modified my WIIMC to make a number of changes, so that failures in allocating buffers or failing to save or load settings.xml, generate error messages, rather than overwriting it with the default settings. I also generate a message and exit rather than overwrite it if the version in the settings file is > the version of WIIMC being loaded, as happens if you revert a level. These all allow any problems to be fixed without losing the existing settings. This might explain your problems.
cadbuscaParticipantI don’t think OSX has the pre-requisite software. Need Windows or Ubunto
I stand corrected.. see below.
cadbuscaParticipantConfirmed that this does not work. There is no way to speed up the decoding of AVC videos on the WII. It has nothing to do with the container. The video will play at less than real time reflecting the additional cycles required to decode it, but the audio will play in realtime causing increasing lipsync as the video plays. This desync starts with videos wider than ~720 and the decoding slow down will increase the wider the video.
October 24, 2011 at 1:24 pm in reply to: WiiMC, Navi-X, and Youtube: What is this newbie doing wrong? #28507cadbuscaParticipantNot sure what you have done, but it was easy for me to modify my WIIMC, to provide a pop up option to save any YouTube Search result as a playlist, which can then be edited on the PC if required and used within WIIMC for future playback. This eliminates the need for any scraper or HTTP server to build YouTube Playlists.
cadbuscaParticipantSettings/Video/autoPlayNextVideo -> ON
cadbuscaParticipantSBS 3D..cool!
cadbuscaParticipantJust turn off Auto-Resume in video settings.
cadbuscaParticipantYou might also find this solution to identify your HD files useful. Just alter the bats as you wish to identify your HD files. http://www.wiimc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=571
September 29, 2011 at 1:31 pm in reply to: [FIXED] Subtitle cropped followed by a crash dump.. #29560cadbuscaParticipantDid you setup the WII for 16:9 and Progressive. Do that and set WIIMC video option to auto, and it will work fine.

I enabled debug logging in WiiMC
How do you do that? I’m unaware of any WIIMC logging capability.
cadbuscaParticipantWhen stephenishere follows the instructions, or opens my PM to him requesting it, and sends me his email, I’ll be able to send him WIIMC+.
September 16, 2011 at 2:56 am in reply to: Crash dumps since the last update – Sample file included #29455cadbuscaParticipantFYI, I have NOT removed the line and the submitted file plays fine for me and the embedded subs display. I tried playing multiple times, jumped back and forth in the video and resumed it. They all work as they should.
September 7, 2011 at 11:45 am in reply to: WIIMC+ Enhancement Pack Version 10B for WIIMC 1.1.9 @ SVN992 #29382cadbuscaParticipantYou are free to utilize and compile the patch anyway you wish, however one of the conditions is that you maintain a parallel WIIMC application for verification and reporting of any WIIMC bugs that you might notice while using WIIMC.
The current .dol is only provided for convenience due to the complexities introduced with devkitproR24. I provide no support for the channel. If you wish a WIIMC+ channel I suggest you create the channel code and I’ll add it to my distribution. -
