Can you post it along with a snip of the video so it can be tested?
August 31, 2010 at 8:57 pm in reply to: Watch Megavideo,HD,Youtube w/ CC through WiiMC (VLCShares) #26336cadbuscaParticipantYes this now works for me too. Using VLC nightly build from 8/15, avc/aac videos play perfectly as well but you need to transcode the video only because the VLC profile transcode does audio too and it wont play. Leaving it as AAC works fine.
cadbuscaParticipantEdit 9/03/2010 – See last post for upgrade to SVN495
Attached is an upgraded patch for SVN488 which corrected some video and YouTube browser tracking bugs requiring a similiar change in the Enhancement patch. It should only be applied to SVN488 or later.cadbuscaParticipantPost part of the clip and I’ll tell you why.
cadbuscaParticipantPerhaps reading the forum, particularly those threads containing “SMB”, will show you how.
cadbuscaParticipantSince the defective 1.0.9 download has not been replaced with a good compile version the best solution is to recompile 1.0.9 using the latest SVN485 which also fixes a bug in the “audio delay” setting option, so that any vids that really need to be adjusted for bad sync may do so.
WIIMC has undergone 120 changes and 10 upgrades of the player since 1.0.4 and 15 more changes since the 1.0.9 release and I can verify that its virtually error free performance makes its implementation more than worthwhile.
This is real easy to do using the instructions in the “Expanded Windows Compile Guide” in the Development forum http://www.wiimc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=489 and it opens the door for you to use other patches to further enhance your WIIMC.
cadbuscaParticipantSo is the current 1.0.9 download now a good compile? Simple answer, simple fix.
cadbuscaParticipantI second this. I’m using yellow right now which helps but the pattern is uneven on the TV.
cadbuscaParticipantOK, just for clarity, I assume that the SVN471 and later code is all correct and was never impacted by this compile problem and that the “upgrade” download for 1.0.9 was corrected to provide a good compile. If so why is the “fix” not being stated as “just reload the 1.0.9 download”. Why would a release 10 be required ????
I use the official release as a base against which to test my enhancements and sure don’t want to be using a bad compile. (I assume this means compiled with the wrong libs)
While we are at this, I’ve also noticed that my compile of the “release level” SVN yields a different size boot.dol than the downloaded boot.dol Perhaps this is due to the level of libogc being used but I’d like to understand why.
cadbuscaParticipantI have had no such problems. In fact I have enhanced the YouTube support to get HighQuality AVC video (fmt=34) and to autoplay all the videos on the downloaded playlist and spent last night watching a constant stream of artifact free YouTube clips automatically played one after the other without a glitch. What an amazing feature!! Every search has returned great results but they do seem to be limited to an undocumented finite number based on an undocumented criteria, which I have asked be published.
A couple of the clips did have color bars which I need to research, and playback did stutter but did not fail when my Internet connection was overloaded by a simultaneous 500kbps download which was easily addressed by limiting the download speed to 200kbps.
I suggest that you look at the reliability of your network rather than at the WIIMC code. I should add that I am using the SVN486 code rather than the 1.0.9 release SVN471 code so perhaps some of the later fixes make the difference.
cadbuscaParticipantHere is the updated patch for 1.0.9 at SVN482
cadbuscaParticipantYour 720P video streams are likely AVC which is highly compressed and requires more cpu power than the wii has to decode. If they were MPeg-4 simplex which DIVX/XVID uses they would likely decode fine since that codec requires less cpu to decode. In my experience any AVC over 640 horizontal will lose lip sync. I use vlc-shares to view all my HD files.
