Yup, its the 720..IMHE any avc over 704 is a problem, some in the 705-850 range may open and play a bit then hang, anything over that will crash.
cadbuscaParticipantThanks for your certification of the process ravex99. That should make others confident in using it. I don’t understand your comment “to include a note to configure & compile liba52 if using WiiMC v1.05 source code.” Isn’t that what these lines in the process do? If not please PM me the changes you recommend and I’ll alter the guide.
cd ..
cd liba52/
./configure --host=powerpc-eabi --prefix="${DEVKITPRO}/portlibs/ppc" --libdir="${DEVKITPRO}/portlibs/ppc/lib" --disable-shared
make
make install
.cadbuscaParticipantMost mkv’s are used to contain hi def avc/aac or avc/ac3 streams which the wii cannot play. See my sticky on what plays and doesn’t play http://www.wiimc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=224, and the solution I use for automatically flagging HD problem videos so you don’t try and play them on the wii http://www.wiimc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=571, and ximarx vlc-shares solution for streaming then from a pc after transcoding them to sd http://www.wiimc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=224. Might solve your problem.
cadbuscaParticipantI use them for all my videos when available and I have never had any problem. Make sure the filenames are identical and only the extensions are different. VLC is more forgiving in that respect so maybe thats your problem.

cadbuscaParticipantSounds like you had a bad .dol on the sd. Were both .dols the same size and date? What was the source of each?
cadbuscaParticipantRegarding the WIIMC exit option see 6) An option to add a Warning Message and option to return to WIIMC prior to exiting with the “Home” button.
Actually the 2 button is currently not much use (since the 1 button can cycle the icons forward. Perhaps it could be made into a resume button… hmmm….we might kill the mouse yet!
cadbuscaParticipantCan you post the full filename D:pathfilename.ext that caused it? I’ll test it on my system too. Also how big was the playlist and what number was playing when you froze? Might help narrow it down. Also how many times has this happened to you.. everytime you try or just once or twice?

cadbuscaParticipantHow do you know?

cadbuscaParticipantYour proper course of action is to submit this as a bug using the Development/Tracker Tabs above. This will give it a number and keep it visible in the list of pending fixes. As you have pointed out it is unique to your environment and I do not have any similar problems in Windows either. I have experienced situations where a complete playlist has not displayed, but never missing share contents.
cadbuscaParticipantThe fix to theabove problem cited by hetfield was identified by ravex99. This link will skip over all the following misinformation and down to that post. I have deleted my subsequent responses to hetfield.
