DIMzoneParticipant
I am using an iomega ix2-200 as my NAS running 1.0.2 WiiMC… All of my content runs very well through SMB although I personaly would perfer FTP (this I haven’t got working yet). I would suggest filling in all information in settings… Example:
Name – SMB NAS Drive
ip – 192.168.1.69
share – public
user –
pass –I am able to connect with no User and Pass because I allow anon login to my public folder… if you are unsure try your admin account on the NAS.
I have set up all 4 Wiis in my house and all run SMB fine except for the few issues discussed in the other threads with FF/WW causeing a few freezes.
Hope this helps.
DIMzoneParticipantI have no issues in the previous Mplayer build… r590 seems to have quite a few issues in a few areas. I downgraded right away.
DIMzoneParticipantHello IronBill… Thanks for all your work in this… I just got a Navi account and will be working on setting up and testing all Navi abilities on the Wii… this is a really cool idea. I do have one quick question right now before I even begin… Can’t you guys port from casttv.com yet?
DIMzoneParticipantI have not been able to get FTP working yet on WiiMC… However on 1.0.2 I have gotten SMB to work. As for Mplayer-CE (latest betas)… Here is the workaround I found to get it working-
1) Restart your Wii
2) As soon as you open Mplayer (.77) navigate to the Shoutcast section and start a stream (I start a radio stream just for speed)
3) Once the stream starts goto your FTP and open it… works everytime for me…However I only get 1 movie in (.avi) and at the end of the movie it will feeze trying to load the next. Or if I try to navigate to another movie half way through I get a freeze.
Let me know if this help anyone… I believe there is an issue in initializing the network through FTP and first must be done via online content. This workaround does work for me in Mplayer even if it’s a pain. And the files run perfect.
As for WiiMC… I think we will have to wait and see with 1.0.3 when it comes. I suggest setting up a SMB (also suggested from the WiiMC team) for now if you want to use WiiMC.
DIMzoneParticipantI was also having similar issues after loading from the DVD menu. Sometimes audio wouldn’t sync for 30 seconds and then catch up. Other times audio would be playing in super-slow-mo as video plays at normal speed. And sometimes it works fine.
I would suggest using Mplayer for DVDs… runs great for me. WiiMC DVD could still use a little help.
