Sorry that I haven’t been here in a while to post anything. But that’s a good thing, right? I’ve had nothing to complain about or problems with getting certain media to play.

But I just had to ask if using the logitech mic would be possible. I know you’ve already got your hands full with other things, and adding mic support could be opening a whole new can of worms…but WiiMC needs karaoke.

And please excuse my ignorance if this has already been discussed in the past. Like I said, I haven’t been around in a while. Thank you

Seriously, this has got to be one of the funniest threads ever. I nearly bricked my Wii a couple times when attempting to softmod it. And even I figured out on my own how to make WiiMC share with Windows 7. Very easy setting it up, in fact easier than xbmc on my xbox. I still consider myself a noob about PC’s in general but I at least understand how to edit a few lines in an xml doc., if I fell like doing a little tweaking. I don’t think he realizes that half the fun of these things is figuring out how to do something cool with a nice little program like this, and being the first to share it with the community. Oh well.

If only dear chad had stuck around a little longer to see there is a lot to learn here now. 😀

So even though I block updates with priiloader, It was still trying to tell me that my firmware is out of date? And when I restarted, Priiloader did its job and blocked it from coming back again? Guess I’ll see if I can shutdown from WiiMC and hopefully I won’t get the light again. I had a feeling it wasn’t WiiMC that caused my prob. Thanks for the info.

Don’t know if there is a post on this somewhere already, but this is similar to the problem I had. It’s only done it once since installing WiiMC. My disc drive wasn’t spinning but the light stayed on and it kept flickering and going from bright to dim. I got it to stop by turning my Wii back on and shutting down from the system menu. Since then, whenever I use WiiMC, I exit to system menu and shut down from there. (with the wii-mote) It hasn’t happened again since doing so.

Awesome! I have an HTPC next to the Wii that I usually use for that. But still nice for those who don’t. A couple questions though. Can you have both streaming (on the PC) at the same time and switch between the two on the fly with the Wii? Also, can you get any other streaming TV programs to work with the Wii, like Streamorrent or TVants?

Just installed it. Went smooth and it works perfect. Mine said running ios 222. Don’t know how you can change that though. I can ask a buddy of mine later who knows more about this stuff than I do. But hopefully you get an answer from someone here soon, no telling when I will see this guy online again. Just so you know, using latest version of WiiMC and installer. Good luck.

Here’s an idea. You hold the Wii-mote straight up and down, a volume knob appears on-screen. Turn clockwise to turn up the volume and counter clockwise to turn it down. Just like a real stereo knob. Make that happen and you will be a god!

Yeah, that’s kinda what I was getting at. Or maybe something where you could point the Wiimote straight up at the ceiling or down at the floor.

Hi, I’m new here. Great forum. I love WiiMC and as far as I am concerned it is a close second to XBMC as far as functionality and ease of use. Great job! Anyway, not all media is at the same volume, so a universal volume control makes sense. Especially since you already have the Wii-mote in your hand. Perhaps a simple slider that you point at to use or some arrows or something at the top and bottom of the screen to adjust the volume. Just thought I’d throw my 2 cents in here. There must be something simple that everyone will like. Keep up the good work. Even without volume controls for music, WiiMC is still by far one of the best apps out there. 😀
