It strikes me that there may be a workaround by configuring Samba differently. It’s clear that there are people out there using linux + samba without problems, so it must be down to something we can configure in Samba.
Is there something specific about the UTF8 that could be changed in the samba config?
Hmm, very odd. What system menu version are you running on?
I’ve installed 1.0.4 and it works fine with the new IOS202. The channel installer now doesn’t work though (Wii crashes with a black screen after launching Wiimc), presumably this is due to some incompatibility.
Could this be something to do with the way the SMB shares are served up? Are you using Samba or Windows as a host?
