Mine is less than 2 years old. I am sure it is interference related…I live in the caribbean and everything here is wireless- antennas/dishes all over the place. I am on wireless DSL as well (WADSL). Netflix streams perfectly with no buffering during play. I have tried every router channel possible but, the repeater next to the Wii is the only thing that makes vlc-shares and Playon stream smoothly. Its possible that it needs the wifi card replaced but i hate spending more money on another “G” card.
lokiMidgardParticipantThank you Ximarx. Originally, I was having some stream issues related to my router so I wanted to open any necessary ports to see if issues went away. As it turns out, my Wii has a ridiculously weak network card in it. When I put a repeater bridge next to the Wii, all of the issues went away. I wish there was a way to upgrade the Wii to wireless N but, the repeater bridge seems to work well for now. It is interesting that my Wii is only 20 feet from my main router yet, it needs a repeater bridge to boost the signal.
lokiMidgardParticipantThank you Fred-Bear!
lokiMidgardParticipantGot it. Thank you Ximarx!
lokiMidgardParticipantChanging the folder permissions seems to have fixed the issue. What is the official method to apply trunk changes? Delete old data then copy and paste new data into the file?
lokiMidgardParticipantThank you I will check into this today. I only used transcoded mode on Megavideo to try to recreate the problem. I first noticed the issue when I was using transcoded mode on a H.264 encoded movie from my PC.
lokiMidgardParticipantOK I submitted the issue in the tracker. I am running XP home. As stated previously, vlc-shares works well until recently on this computer. Also, I did not see a way to clear the log of old data- is there a way to do that?
lokiMidgardParticipantWouldn’t that be 480AVC??
lokiMidgardParticipantDisney seems to continually make their copyright protection more complex with every new release. If this is what is causing your situation and you really want to play it on the wii then I would suggest ripping it and burning to a new disc to remove copyright protection or just rip to a file for USB or SMB share viewing. But I dont think Disney appreciates my advice…. 😈
lokiMidgardParticipantThis is definitely interesting…if this means we can eventually start streaming rtmp with vlc-shares, then most of the sites that I watch live video feeds from would be available on WiiMC. This will be an awesome addition!
lokiMidgardParticipantOK awesome…I am excited to see the new version when it is finished. Great work ximarx!!
lokiMidgardParticipantThe feeds are turned on at specific times so check the masters.com website for the times of each feed otherwise you will get an error if try to play video early
lokiMidgardParticipantHere are my stream links for the tournament. The in depth coverage does not begin until 3PM eastern time.

If vlc-shares can play rtmp that is good to know because I have wanted to add other videos in that format that would not play from onlinemedia.xml
BTW the quality of the http feed is near perfect on my 32″ tv
lokiMidgardParticipantI only saw an http feed so that is what i am using
for instance right now only holes 11,12,and 13 (amen corner) is airing so i have added the link to onlinemedia.xml but I had to change it to account for excepted semicolons. Below is my link. I did this for each of the videos offered.<link name="Amen Corner" addr="http://masters2011-f.akamaihd.net/amen_1_564@49629?v=1.0.8.10&fp=WIN%2010,2,153,1&r=UMFWW&g=KMYGWGQEDUHB" />
I have internet download manager so anytime a video comes up on my laptop it gives me the option to download it. I click download so it will bring up the feed link then I cancel the download once I have copied link.
