I have a Dual drive MyBook Work Ed (Bluering). You will prolly have to hack your nas to change the port it is listening on. That is what I had to do.

Is it possible to do this in Windows? I’ve tried to keep the Compile Guide current but it is getting beyond me.
I think it should be, but you would need to use a batch script or maybe even wsh. I don’t have a windows computer to try it out on though. 😛
MatokingParticipantI can understand your point; I really thought there were more devs on this project than just you two! For just a two person team, the app is definitely great. Your post has motivated me to get back into C and make some changes of my own, maybe you’ll see some patch files come your way 😆 (Though not anytime soon I would imagine).
MatokingParticipantActually I would not use windows to try to trouble shoot the issue unless you have to. A better idea might be to use a livecd (Ubuntu for example), which is a closer approximation to WiiMC than windows.
If you boot from a livecd, you can run
smbclient -L routerIP -U guest
Then when prompted for a password, leave it blank and press enter.
If it is setup to give guest access then you should see a list of shares, if it is not then you could see nothing or possibly an error. If you plan on using it with a particular user/pass then change guest to the user you want to use and type the password when prompted.
MatokingParticipantNot to mention how long it would take to create such a rip with the wii, add to that the fact that people complain regular usage is overheating their wii’s (haven’t seen it myself and I live in nevada). Just not a good idea.
If you need an app to use on your pc, try handbrake
MatokingParticipantI have not had an issue with the LAN adapter since wiimc came out. I am running 1.11 also.

Has this not happened to anyone else?
I guess not 😀
If you just have your movie drive in (unplug the other), does it recognise it in either port?
MatokingParticipantDoes the wiimote sync back up? It could be that the application is freezing and so the wiimote lights go out.
Does this happen no matter what file you play? Video only?

^ there’s no ‘=’ on the WiiMC virtual keyboard. Where do I/how do I input this?
Thanks. If there is not a key, then just put the sd card on your pc and edit it. If you computer does not have a sd slot, then install wiixplorer and activate the ftp server. Then you can goto ftp://WIIIP and access the card on your computer.
Also note you have to mark it as public, private will not work as the server will not be able to access your playlist.
MatokingParticipantStart time should only be a few seconds. Mine is 7 seconds from the time I click start to the time I see my SMB mounted files. I have 5 different shared directories. Do you have a hard disk hooked to it?
As for the wiimotes, they will shut off and then turn back on when you start the channel, it should not need a button pressed to come back on.
These answers are based off of my experience.

Is there a way to stream on-line media through a proxy?
What would be the xml code for that (http / mms protocols)?get a router and set it up to use a proxy, that would be the easiest way.

That’s strange. I have definitely a 802.11g connection to my AVM router. What for a browser do you use on your Wii ?
Opera
MatokingParticipantThis is from Nintendo’s site:
What type of router (a, b, g, or N) is compatible with Nintendo WFC?
Nintendo WFC is compatible with 802.11b. Because 802.11g and 802.11n routers are also compatible with 802.11b, these routers will work as well, as long as the router’s settings are not set to “g only” or “n only”.I know in my case I have 2 routers that if I mark as G-Only the wii will not connect to them.
I get this speed only with the wii, and it is in any application. I can even use the speedtest.net site in the browser on the wii and get that same speed, in my case I use a USB LAN adapter so I don’t have to slow my routers down to b speed.
I would love to know what some of the other users here are getting with their connections.
MatokingParticipantWhat do you get speed wise on your wired connection? Mine seems to top out around 4mbps.
MatokingParticipantThis is really just a result of Nintendo trying to put the device out as cheap as possible. I am not knocking it as it does what it is meant to do and it does it VERY well.
I have been wondering lately if USB2.0 is possible, then is it possible to use a 100mbps or a 1000mbps usb ethernet adapter. This would allow for a much faster transfer rate on the network than 802.11b. Then again it may just eat up the processor and end up with a different undesired result.
