PryceParticipant
I’ve tried a thousand times; even with 0.5.5 beta2 and still I’m unable to browse into index/collections.
Some help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
PryceParticipant
# ls -la vlc-shares/application/controllers/IndexController.php
-rwxrwxrwx 1 www-data www-data 1326 abr 22 16:39 vlc-shares/application/controllers/IndexController.php
I’ve chown’d and chmod’d again (www-data:www-data and 777 with -R) and still not working 🙁
PryceParticipantAs the title says, and i tried to explain many times; if I click “Browse” (the one with the fancy folder with a mangifying glass) then vlc shares tries to open http://localhost/vlc-shares/index/collections which leads to a

If i go to localhost/vlc-shares or localhost/vlc-shares/public it takes me to localhost/vlc-shares/manage. Is it all right?
thanksPryceParticipantI know, i’ve done that too. It’s well explained in the installation guide.
I’ll show you.I have this:
Gusev:/etc/apache2/conf.d# ls -la
total 28
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 abr 23 21:14 .
drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 4096 abr 23 21:14 ..

And inside vlc-shares.conf
cat vlc-shares.conf

allow from all
php_flag magic_quotes_gpc Off
php_flag register_globals Off
If I remove this file, I can’t acces anymore to vlc-shares (localhost/vlc-shares) nor vlc-shares/public
Thanks.PryceParticipantI already did that in the installation step.
Checked again and its there.
Thanks.PryceParticipantNo need for a firewall or opening ports. I’m trying to stream only in my private local network.
ThanksPryceParticipantOk. I’ve disabled 8081 from ports.conf and checked that mod_rewrite was enabled already.
Don’t know where else to look at.
Anyway, I’m running Apache 2.2.22 on a up-to-date Debian SID
Thanks.PryceParticipantSorry, when I replied to this thread I didn’t realize this is about VLC shares. I’m referring to the youtube search on wiimc itself, is it possible to show the time for each YT vids and be able to use their filter (20 minutes or more).
Thanks
PryceParticipantI don’t understand why the youtube search on wiimc is different from the search on the computer. Usually, I manage to find a lot of good full movies by searching “, long” since this will filter a lot of fake vids and show the vids with 20 minutes or more. When I do this on wiimc, it doesn’t show the full movies but mostly the fake ones.
I thought it is the RTMPE thingy you mentioned… but I did a search on my desktop (sister act, long) and copied the youtube video title then typed that title (whoopy goldberg – sister act) into wiimc and got to finally watch that movie. Is there anyway I can search for full movies on wiimc straightaway instead of having to find it on my desktop then type it on wiimc?
December 22, 2011 at 5:26 pm in reply to: Crash dumps since the last update – Sample file included #29500PryceParticipantOk, now y deleted whole SD card, and installed from scratch.
I have noticed, crashes has reduced to 0… but starting WiiMC from Homebrew.
I am quite sure now the problem is in wiimc channel. I start the channel, wiimc crashes most of the times. I start homebrew, then wiimc… almost never crashes.
Hope this helps, Tantric (and to all the people with crashes.. just use homebrew to launch 1.2.0).
November 13, 2011 at 10:19 am in reply to: Crash dumps since the last update – Sample file included #29482PryceParticipantif I open WiiMC and I am taken to the device selection (SD cardor USB drive) then any video file I choose will give me a crash dump and return to Wii channel select after 8 seconds.
Interesting. I have noticed as well that now wiimc does not “remember” settings. It forgets some of them everytime it is opened. Like video 16:9, subtitles codification… etc.
So I *think* if it takes you back to device selection it is because it “forgets”.
Maybe something to do with the way settings are written to config file?
Just in case…
BTW, my “solution” was to get back to 1.1.8, and only use 1.2 for youtube.
October 25, 2011 at 7:51 pm in reply to: Crash dumps since the last update – Sample file included #29476PryceParticipantSame problem. Over 80% files crashes. But, if i am lucky and find a file that works (never the same), every single file works then… until i close app and start again. 🙁
Tried removing xml line, updating channel, new installation, starting with hbc… installation from scratch… everything.
Something is terribly wrong with 1.1.9 and 1.2. I’ve been using this since first version and never had this problems.
Hope Tantric figures it out soon.

Good afternoon, and thanks for providing such a great platform.
However, I have had some trouble with retail movie DVDs I have been trying to play on my Wii. For some DVDs, especially older DVDs, I cannot use the menu at all. For other DVDs, it takes ages to load. Other DVDs will not load at all but instead say invalid disk.
Once I get the movie running, if I can, it runs alright (for what I’ve done so far testing), but it take a lot more hassle than I’d like just to get to that point. Is there anything I can do to help, or is this just part of the WiiMC experience?
Stats so that you might be helped:
Type of Wii: Bought at launch in November, 2006
Modifications? None. I have never had to send my Wii in to get fixed. I have not chipped my wii either.
System Update: 4.3, only installed homebrew and homebrew channel today
IOS: The latest on, 58? Whatever one that’s plastered everywhere that says it’s required. Thanks for your help. Does it make a difference whether I launch WiiMC from the HBC or from the Channel loader? I don’t see why it would, but I can check.
Same problems, it’s not a dvd drive or disk problem. It seems WiiMC caches, takes 3 minutes then to just show the a dvd menu. This has been the same on all versions including 1.2
PryceParticipantyep, i was using the forwarder..but it doesn’t work wither from the HBC, i have tried the usb test just to see if it’s something to do with it, and know what? it’s exactly the same.. black screen, no dump no nothing just flat black screen.. i can not understand why it worked fine till 1.1.6 and now its screewed 🙁 ( and i can not go back to previous verision either )
i will post mi ios satus if it would help.. -
