Nope, this is not going to happen, sorry. WiiMC requires SD or USB.
rodriesKeymasterFor one thing, you should be running on virgin IOS58 if you’re using USB. Go install that, reinstall HBC, and then verify HBC/WiiMC are using IOS58.
rodriesKeymasterMore than likely they replaced the drive with a new one, which means you can’t play DVDs on it anymore.
rodriesKeymasterIf it says Invalid DVD, then yes to both. Quite likely the problem here is his Wii has one of the new drives with the DVD Video commands removed – manufactured in late 2009 onwards.
rodriesKeymasterThanks. Either rodries or I will have a look.
rodriesKeymasterWhat’s the playlist type? plaintext (m3u)? pls? plx? Can you generate me a big list in a file and post it on the Tracker? It could be something with the mplayer parser, but it shouldn’t be a memory limitation – WiiMC can handle browsing a folder with 2000 entries in SMB, for example.
rodriesKeymasterOnly 60? I would think WiiMC could handle at least 2000 entries per page without any trouble…
rodriesKeymasterThis file is not in a useable format, the non-ASCII characters don’t show up right.

You have no network on your Wii, so take out the no_ios_reload line from your meta.xml.
rodriesKeymasterMovies can have protection on them and WiiMC isn’t perfect at breaking through it. Not all DVD movies will play, there’s no easy way around it.
rodriesKeymasterTake out the no_ios_reload line from your meta.xml.
rodriesKeymasterHere’s what I would try if it was me:
Turn the SAMBA logging to the highest level
Set SAMBA to port 445
Make sure SAMBA is using NLTM, not LM or NTLMv2
Set to user-level security
Set up a user with a non-blank passwordI’m sure someone else will have a few other suggestions.
rodriesKeymasterGoogle seems to suggest that mplayer might play the bin/cue just as it is – sort of like it plays iso without the files extracted. So that’s why I want him to try it 🙂
rodriesKeymasterPlease try the following:
1) rename the cue file to .mpg, and try to play it. Does it play?
2) delete the cue file. rename the bin file to .mpg, and try to play it. Does it play?Let me know the results, then we’ll see about adding extensions 🙂
