I don’t know why but the web host has been a little less than stable over the last month. Of course the site is hosted for free so I can’t really complain, but it is unfortunate… 😕
rodriesKeymasterwiimc.org’s YouTube scripts only return results to WiiMC – they don’t respond to requests from a web browser. Browsing is working okay, you can browse (or search), but when you click on a video, it doesn’t work. You have the same problem trying to go directly to a YouTube video link and bypassing wiimc.org entirely.
I have run it myself and the WiiMC scraping code is finding a URL to play, but that URL doesn’t work (either from within WiiMC or a browser). My guess is WiiMC is picking up the wrong URL or otherwise processing it wrong. 🙁
rodriesKeymasterMy guess would be YouTube’s page changed again. This means someone will need to modify WiiMC’s YouTube scraper accordingly. jhb50 has done this the past few times and submitted a patch, hopefully he’ll do it again.
rodriesKeymasterYou could probably play it through VLC Shares…I don’t know anything about doing that though.
rodriesKeymasterThe YouTube problem was caused by a hardware malfunction at WiiMC’s web host. They have promptly corrected the problem and everything is back to normal! 🙂
rodriesKeymasterDLNA isn’t supported. You’d need a SMB server.
rodriesKeymasterBetter yet, buy a $50 blu ray player – it’ll also play those 720p/1080p h264 files your Wii can’t.
rodriesKeymasterTry renaming the file (eg: to mp3) and see if WiiMC will play it. If it does, I can add the extension to the list.
rodriesKeymasterGPU is also used for some other things like colorspace. But there’s no GPU support for doing things like codec decoding.
rodriesKeymasterThis problem relates to a change to libogc not WiiMC itself that apparently isn’t compatible with linux-based SMB.
The change is only present in the official compile. What I meant was if you’re having problems, go ahead and go back to 1.2.7
rodriesKeymasterWe’re all aware of this. Go back to 1.2.7.
rodriesKeymasterI have never heard of an IOS being “corrupted”.
If it’s a modified IOS, you’ll get a warning when you start WiiMC.
rodriesKeymasterThey are the same version. The upgrade file doesn’t include the online media xml because that file may have been customized by the user.
rodriesKeymasterYou are hitting a bug in hbc. Upgrade to the newest version and your problem will go away.
rodriesKeymastersepp256 rewrote the video code to support this awhile back, but I never got around to adding the input controls for it because I wanted to make a new on-screen GUI while watching a video to control this, rather than just adding more obscure button combinations to do it.
