I had the same problem. What seemingly fixed this for me was the installation of <>. It will automatically download and install the correct IOS’s. Give it a try and let me know if it works for you too. Link is to the newest version, 1.43. 😀
After installation, choose the top option – which is something like “pass the test and fix problems”. I recommend all WiiMC users download and install this program. It will keep your hacked wii up to date without endangering anyything.
good luck!
Running an app that patches every IOS in on your Wii is a very bad idea, and in fact may prevent future versions of WiiMC from working, as I might add checks to ensure that WiiMC is running on an untouched IOS.
So please don’t suggest to users to do this.
rodriesKeymasterYou’re making a lot out of a whole lot of nothing. 1.0.6 reverts the CIOS changes, which yes makes that mention in the 1.0.5 changelog moot for 1.0.6, but not for 1.0.5.
Many hard drives don’t work without IOS202, and those that do will only get USB1.1 speeds – ie: slow.
Aside from all this, there will be some changes coming down the pipe to make this whole issue moot.
rodriesKeymasterYes. Go buy a DVD player. 🙄
rodriesKeymasterYou are blind. Read the front page of the site for the changes in 1.0.6 and 1.0.5.

Since you reverted the USB code, I’m going to go back to Hermes v5 for IOS202, as your v1.1 breaks some other homebrew apps as has been mentioned elsewhere (i.e. WiiExplorer channel list). However, one thing I’m wondering, does the latest forwarder require IOS202 v1.1 or do I need to downgrade the forwarder in order to use it with the old IOS202? This post says the forwarder v1.2 requires IOS202 v1.1, but I figured I’d check here and get the answer from the definitive source.
I’d downgrade the forwarder.

just updated to 1.0.6 and installed all of the other installers as well ,and still no hdd shows up on the second port for me…..i use a WD 1.5tb hdd, formated to ntfs, not sure if this has anything to do with it…….thanks
1.0.6 reverted the USB changes, so USB only works on the ONE port.
rodriesKeymasterTry wiixplorer for that.
rodriesKeymasterI meant that HBC will be able to put WiiMC first *without* prefixing the app title.
rodriesKeymasterThis will also be possible in the next version of HBC 😀

First I would like to thank Tantric and rodries and all the others that created a super product.
Second I would like to know which version of IOS 202 is in the IOS 202 Installer 1.1 as I recently updated with Hermes cIOS 202-222-223 installer v5.
Last question, is it so that the “now playing” Internet stream is not working?
The IOS202 is a customized version (backwards compatible with other apps) with IOS57 as a base.
Now playing is broken for internet streams, already fixed for next release.
rodriesKeymasterAllowing more than one drive to be used is an entirely different issue, and requires a significant amount of work. I don’t know when or if this might happen.
rodriesKeymasterIt’s not like it’s going to hurt your Wii or anything. That’s just on there because people are complaining about USB2 not working, crashing, subtitles not working, etc. Perhaps they’re blowing it out of proportion – I don’t know. 1.0.5 works fine for me personally, and that’s the best I can offer.
rodriesKeymasterNo, 1.0.5 is broken. There’s no way to just ‘make’ it work.
rodriesKeymasterFeedback received. But you won’t see a quick fix.
