It has nothing to do with 4.3. Nintendo made a hardware change a few years ago – DVD movie playback is impossible for any Wii produced since then.

Of course. Don’t give that user any privileges for the folder.

USB works pretty well for a lot of people, but SMB is the most supported method – particularly with USB ethernet.

    WiiMC+ isn’t for everyone. I don’t use it. 😉

The domain isn’t important for WiiMC – it will determine that automatically – it matches whatever the domain is that the server suggests.

+1 for SMB. It’s a much more robust and stable solution on the Wii.

Actually, in this case it didn’t “crash” – it never loaded because the forwarder couldn’t find a WiiMC dol to load. 😉

    There is no such setting.

I can’t do that – just create a new account.

    a) YouTube doesn’t output in SWF
    b) WiiMC fully supports YouTube
    c) The SWFs I’ve tried in WiiMC load and play the audio but not the video. Others may not work at all, I don’t know. So I wouldn’t count on WiiMC supporting SWF.

WiiMC is not an official SHOUTcast partner. This means it’s a cat-and-mouse game to keep WiiMC’s SHOUTcast support working.

I’ve circumvented the most recent block they’ve put in place.

…Did you try the channel installer?

Also don’t forget that the channel is just a forwarder – you also need WiiMC on SD or USB.

Does WiiMC even support SWF? I’m not so sure…

Is WiiMC using IOS58? If not, fix that and try again.

If it is, you’re not going to get better USB compatability. If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. It’s unlikely anyone will step up and fix it for you. If that’s the case I’d suggest returning the drive and finding one that works.

Do you have another drive (or a pen drive) to test with, just to make sure it is indeed a problem with USB incompatibility and not some other problem?
