That’s helpful. Perhaps a recompile of the channel will fix the problem.
rodriesKeymasterhad to delete no ios reload from meta.xml to stop crash dump
THAT.
That disables AHBPROT and therefore your DVD access.
The crash dump occurs when the network icon in HBC is still blinking when you load WiiMC.
Probably your best bet would be to load from the WiiMC channel instead of HBC.
rodriesKeymasterI actually am behind the scenes, but I still don’t know! It’s in dhewg’s hands currently, he’s supposed to send me some test HBC builds so we can solve the problem.
rodriesKeymasterIt’s an HBC bug.
Delete the no_ios_reload line from the meta.xml for the WiiMC app.

September 16, 2011 at 2:21 pm in reply to: Crash dumps since the last update – Sample file included #29457rodriesKeymasterYes, but I’m asking you to try removing that line to see if you’re actually running into the HBC network init bug. Please do so, and report back if you continue to experience crashes or not.

delete the whole line that says

rodriesKeymasterWell the first thing to do is make sure HBC is reporting that it’s using IOS58. If it’s not, fix that and try again.
rodriesKeymasterThat would require a python interpreter being added to WiiMC. It’s hard to know how possible it is unless/until someone actually tries it (and that someone won’t be me). Python has already been ported to Wii once – http://code.google.com/p/wiipy/ – so it’s not a completely far-fetched idea.
Really though when this idea was suggested, I suggested a better idea would be to convert the Python scripts to C/C++.
rodriesKeymasterWorkgroup is irrelevant.
The IP (eg: 192.168.0.1) goes in the spot for Share IP. The Share Name is just that, the name of the share itself, eg: Movies
And then the Username/Password. That’s it.
for IP, 192.168.0.1/Movies is wrong
for Share Name, MoviesSome Other Folder is wrongIf it’s still not working you’ll have to look at more complicated settings, such is what port your SMB server uses – it should be using 445 not 139.
September 7, 2011 at 8:16 pm in reply to: "DVD Playback is not supported on this Wii" ERROR with 1.1.9 #29417rodriesKeymasterIf the drive test isn’t working, that means:
– you’re not running on the latest HBC
– or HBC isn’t running on a compatible IOS. IOS58 is your best bet.
– you’re missing AHBPROT (eg: if you didn’t unzip the test directly to your apps/ folder)rodriesKeymasterIt probably uses PASV mode FTP which WiiMC doesn’t support.
September 5, 2011 at 3:32 pm in reply to: Crash dumps since the last update – Sample file included #29447rodriesKeymasterCan’t do anything without a sample of a file that crashes.
rodriesKeymasterThis is because WiiMC has to decrypt the CSS for the DVD and this can take some time. If you want a better experience, use a real DVD player.
