I am concerned about the failure of method 5 in the latest test:

    __usbstorage_IsInserted
    USB_GetDeviceList. device_count: 0
    USB Device NOT Compatible!!!
    USB2 device test method: 5

Can someone expain what this means? I need to decide if I am going to keep this drive or return it so I would appreciate knowing what the problem is. Thanks.

I think that’s test 4 actually…test 5 should be the next one under that.

This one does the same thing the last one you gave me does… Works perfectly with large videos in USB (NTFS) but in SMB it keeps showing the wrong length 😕

I think this is going to works fine, also improved performance

Awesome work rodries! Tested this out with my large ISO’s (over 4GB) and they play perfectly over SMB all the way through now. I seem to have no more problems with large files now (that I can see). Thank you!

Nice work rodries and team, It really played the MPEG2 video file of 7,82GB that has 02:15:00 of length. But it only showed the correct length via USB (NTFS), not via SMB.

Please don’t forget to do the same correction when loading from SMB and please do launch a new version soon 😉

Try this beta & report: http://www.mediafire.com/?ob2kbapidt3ff9m

This didn’t seem to help me. While the total movie length shows correct, through SMB I still only get about 8-10 minutes of playtime on my ISO’s over 4GB, before they stop playing and kick me back to the main WiiMC screen.

Yeah, don’t know why it’s not on the devkitpro site. I basically did the same you did, and I believe I got it from the same project/site. I just compiled it, and replaced the zlib files in the portlibs directory with the updated ones.

Additionally, it looks like as of revision r756 libmpg123 is no longer needed (please correct me if that’s not accurate).

*Nevermind – Zlib 1.2.5 is what I needed to fix this, was still using 1.2.4. Just leaving rest up in case someone else runs into this*

So this is what I’m receiving when compiling the latest build. Not quite sure what to do to correct this…

Also, for your ext2.h errors, you need to install the libext2fs wii port @ http://code.google.com/p/libext2fs-wii/.

How would I resolve the zlib errors to keep large file support when compiling?

Though I’ve only had problems with one previous version not detecting the drive, currently I haven’t noticed any issues. I’ve run the USB test app anyway, all tests pass, but hopefully the results can help others that are having problems.

ISO’s do play fine with skip to main title set, however there is a minor issue I’ve found. If the iso is created with no menu, I can navigate back or forward through the movie fine. If the ISO is created with the menu (and skip to main title is still set), it will play fine, but if I try to navigate to other parts of the movie, it will stop playback and kick back to the main WiiMC screen.

As one of the other posters mentioned, I’m getting errors compiling recent SVN sources at the end now:

    linking … wiimc.elf
    mem2_manager.o: In function `mem2_free’:
    c:/users/nobody/wii/wiimc/source/utils/mem2_manager.c:204: undefined reference to `__lwp_heap_block_size’

collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
    make[1]: *** [/c/users/nobody/wii/wiimc/wiimc.elf] Error 1
    make: *** [build] Error 2

I’m using the latest libogic SVN, is there something else I need to update?

Thanks, I found the problem. It doesn’t go back to the results if browser folders are set to static in general options. Has to be on last viewed for it to work that way.

ridger81 – I know you’re trying to help, that’s fine. However, quick solution or not, it’s just the wrong advice for this situation – especially when people can just roll back to version 1.0.7, or wait for it to be fixed, which probably won’t be too long.

ridger81 – please stop advising people to format their drives. This is unnecessary, and not the solution to this issue.

Wiila – No need to format, wait for the devs to sort out the issue – There are already other users with the same issue, and I’m one of them.

I was able to get this working, and is not that hard.

Download the SVN libogc source from:

    https://devkitpro.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/devkitpro/trunk/libogc/

Launch Msys, change directory to the root of the downloaded libogc folder, run make, then make install.

This by itself won’t give you everything you need to compile the newer WiiMC, as will be missing some necessary files (fat.h and others) in the new folders, that should already be in your installed devkitpro/libogc/include and devkitpro/libogc/lib folders. What you may wish to do is make a copy of those directories first before continuing. There may be a better way, but this is how I did it:

Go into the now compiled libogc folder:

Copy the contents of newly created libogc/include folder into your devkitpro/libogc/include folder (overwriting older files with the new ones)

Copy the contents of newly created libogc/lib folder into your devkitpro/libogc/lib folder (overwriting older files with the new ones)

Now you can compile the new WiiMC revisions as usual.
