SurrealParticipant
It seems that latest antivirus are a virus 😛
You’re lucky to found it the solution
SurrealParticipantIf are you using Avast 6 you must read these topics:
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=72798.0
http://www.wiimc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1188Avast 6 have an issue with smb folders shared with Wii and XBox if this is your problem
SurrealParticipantAre you using Avast 6.0 recently updated?
Id it’s true, you must to revert to Avast 5.1.889 because v6 have an issue with smb folder with Wii and XboxYou can read more about in these links:
http://www.wiimc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1188
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=72798.0SurrealParticipantI downloaded Avast 5.1.889 from here (http://fs21.filehippo.com/3086/2144f3cef7ea4efa8f012bfaf9cc4768/setup_av_free.exe)
I spend an hour looking for v5 of Avast xDDIf anyone else got the same problem download it and in a few months try to update to v6 again ;P
SurrealParticipantWow, now I see the post in avast forum and I was going to post it here like you sonjamichelle 😛
Well guays it seems an Avast 6.0 issue not like a WiiMC ^^
SurrealParticipant@Tantric: nop turning on with an older version doesn’t works… Ratat0skr tell us that possibly is Avast 6 (new version) that upgrades the next day of WiiMC does it. If it where Avast, WiiMC works perfect. I inform you about this issue with Avast 6. Thanks for all
@Ratat0skr: first one i have to tell you that your name is specially difficult to write 😛
In other way, I try uninstalling Avast but before this, I try to switch options on it because possibly this workaround is customizableSurrealParticipantAll of us tried to revert to v1.1.2 or in my case v1.1.1 too, these versions are functional but the version 1.1.3 do it something that even reverting to older version, the older version doesn’t work well too
But when we have the v1.1.2 or olders it works correctly. It seems like v1.1.3 crashed something when it updates.
SurrealParticipantI would like to say that I try MPlayer and I have the same issue with smb folders… 😛
SurrealParticipantI stopped avast service that could be suficient to disable avast functionallity but the problems persists…
Really I think that v1.1.3 has anything else related with this feature “Improved network initialization routines” wrong that affects sometimes to some users like us.
It’s the only reasonable explanation
SurrealParticipantI discard SP1 because I install it at 23/02 and 24/02 I’ve used WiiMC without problems, the same day 24/02 WiiMC updated from 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 it reboot and runs normally, but when I shutdown the wii and the following day 25/02 started Wii MC it goes wrong.
The only thing I’ve done in 24/02 on my PC is updated Avast to v6.0 but if it was the antivirus, other PC’s doesn’t see shared folders or not?
In any case, I disabled Avast for a few moments to try WiiMC and it goes wrong too.
I’ve discarted all the options except v1.1.3 update….SurrealParticipantI’ve the same problem too.
I updated to 1.1.3 and when i reboot my wii it doesn’t list correctly the smb shared folder, only the last and if I choose it, i returns back.Shared folder on win7 x64 that can be accessed from other computers without problems. And I’ve give it all security perms trying to solve the issue.
What does the last update concretly? Could any admin or developer tell us, and then we could try to find a solution…
Thanks -
