I removed the tt so just replace, some forums dont like live links…..
tramadolcykvParticipantROFLMFAO!!! That a great way to put it Seej. Just exactly what are the wifi specs? Anyone know? I know im going to buy a lan adapter, just cant wait to see the difference it makes. Ive read alot of ppl are saying that its like night and day.
tramadolcykvParticipantThis would be interesting….. โ
tramadolcykvParticipantI dont use wiimc to play files from usb drive, so cant say if it is a problem with that. But, yes i was refering to SMB share, so there is a difference between that and streaming? How do i stream via http?
PS,Oh you mean like i stream it to my network and then just connect to the signal via wiimc?
PSS, The trick i was refering to was to simply press pause when it starts to freeze, and then either unpause it or rewind back and then play the movie again…..i dont remember where i read it…….
Re: Anyone that is having problems with smb freezing
by Tantric ยป Sun Jul 04, 2010 6:38 amI never ever have a SMB freeze with my lan adapter. But on wifi I do have them sometimes.
So it’s definitely related to wifi somehow. That’s all I know.
Tantric thinks the problem is with the wifi…as do i….but as i stated in another post it ended up working with another movie, i was able to watch it all the way through. So i think that i was trying to watch a movie that was over the size limit 670 x 1080 or whatever it is…..
tramadolcykvParticipantfcuenca- from what i read, tantric says that it has to be something with wifi, he has his stable enough that he can watch a movie almost always with the lan adapter, but when it is just using wifi, he gets code dumps and freezing. Again IOS 202 issues are only DVD related, i did notice when i was playing a movie and it did crash, that my setting for cache fill was set to like 30 or 40, i dont remember what it was default to. Then just to see if it helped any i set it higher, to 100 and then back to 90, and it did help, but didnt fix it. I know im completely new to this game but my understanding of how things work lead me to believe that its just something in the coding, and the wifi stability(alot like the netflix cache buffer) so sometime in the future, with alot of extensive testing and research, we will figure it out.
tramadolcykvParticipantThats what i was thinking, and in that other forum General Discussion that i posted, about netflix, this is what i meant. For some reason, it sometimes does the same thing, i have gone through a whole movie on netflix and havent had to reload the cache for the movie[buffer] but it is very rare. What i meant was decompile how netflix uses their “rebufferer” lol to buffer and find out what is causing it. I dont know, i know you guys are a hell of alot more smarter when it comes to this sh!t, there are just too many variables for me to troubleshoot right now. I would like to say that i played an avi completely this time and then went to play the file i was trying to earlier and it froze and just rebooted my wii. I would assume that my case is file related as of this point, but i have to admit if there were a problem with wifi it could be f’ing with it…..Thanks tantric….lates
tramadolcykvParticipantI am having the smb shares freezing problem too. Do you think it could be a problem with my wireless router? I can understand that ios 202 only has to do with dvd loading, so i think the first post should be disreguarded. But when thinking back i have a belkin wirless n+ router and im just wondering if the reason the video stream freezes is because of loss of packets being sent. I soon hope to buy a lan adapter for the wii to test this theory….smb share works great and if i pause it enough times, i can watch the whole movie…lol I have a hunch that its either a coding problem in wiimc or in the connection itself……..again just my random thoughts?
tramadolcykvParticipantwell from what i understand about how things work, even youtube works somewhat like that, since you have to upload a small file i can just load and then buffer the vid., alot like how netflix works. But what i meant in my post is, i find it very coincidental, uncanny how its soo like wiimc smb share ability….i think that someone should look into the coding that netflix uses on the wii….it could be exactly what we need….to solve the freeze problem, buffer problem, cache fill problem….anyways i know that some people have said that they can take a game disk and extract certain files that are in a .iso file. I was just thinking that this could be the case. Maybe there is someone out there that can and knows how to do this and could decompile whatever software is used for netflix and somehow build off of that framework, to fix whatever problems there are in the video section….again just random thoughts. If anyone else out there knows what i mean please feel free to comment. :geek:
tramadolcykvParticipantlol…that made me rofl…thats like asking your mom to have a sex change…. ๐ฎ … ๐
tramadolcykvParticipantI think he was pissed about not getting an answer, and started to backpedal when he got replys….lol…SERIOUSLY THOUGH….if there realy only two people dev. this project….then i think he was looking at the glass half empty…..when he should have been seeing it half full……Keep up the great work…
