I can confirm the issue is with NTFS drives on 1.0.8. I have 2 nearly identical drives, 1 is FAT32 the other is NTFS. The FAT32 drive works on 1.0.8, the NTFS one does not. Both work on 1.0.7. So 1.0.8 has introduced an NTFS bug. And I agree, reformatting your drive is extreme at best, downright stupid at worst, especially considering this is most likely a very minor bug that will get fixed shortly. I only use FAT32 for my smaller HD because of RawkSD3 (which is the only homebrew I use which doesn’t support NTFS and most likely never will, but it’s important enough to merit using FAT32). Now that most homebrew apps with USB support are starting to support NTFS there is not much reason to stick with FAT32 for anything but very small HD’s
Edit: I’ve tested using both the 1.4 channel and the latest HBC, so it’s definitely in WiiMC itself. Also, plugging in the HD after starting WiiMC doesn’t work for me.
Edit 2: djdynamite, the forwarder issues are sorted with the v1.4 channel.
wii_about_guideParticipantWell, now that WiiMC uses IOS58, hubs *might* work, but I haven’t tried it. However, it seems to still only support 1 drive at a time.
wii_about_guideParticipantThe cIOS USB 2.0 module does not support hubs. In fact, the only thing it does support is Mass Storage Devices because they (as in Waninkoko and Hermes) only partially implemented the USB stack. That’s why you can only use one port. If they allowed you to use both ports you would break support for any USB instruments or anything else that uses USB (although why it couldn’t be implemented for a homebrew-only IOS slot like 202 I don’t know…)

It’s “voilà”. It’s a French word.
[/grammar nazi rant]wii_about_guideParticipantSince you reverted the USB code, I’m going to go back to Hermes v5 for IOS202, as your v1.1 breaks some other homebrew apps as has been mentioned elsewhere (i.e. WiiExplorer channel list). However, one thing I’m wondering, does the latest forwarder require IOS202 v1.1 or do I need to downgrade the forwarder in order to use it with the old IOS202? This post says the forwarder v1.2 requires IOS202 v1.1, but I figured I’d check here and get the answer from the definitive source.

wii_about_guideParticipantIs there any way to specify which to use if both are connected then? Even better would be a way to switch the active drive while the app was running and refresh the drive list. Otherwise, at least being able to choose which drive to use when there is a drive in both ports would be nice (and then of course if only one port is connected, use that). I realize that since the beginning of USB2.0 in cIOS it has always been only 1 port so the other could be used for other peripherals such as the RB microphone but since IOS202 is reserved for homebrew it would be nice to see both ports using USB2.0 eventually. Whether that’s up to you or the cIOS devs I don’t know, so I’ll settle for being able to select one or the other. As I said, it kind of defeats the purpose of being able to use the second port if it still only displays the first drive when there are 2 plugged in.
wii_about_guideParticipantNah, I just didn’t want to be seeing my $RECYCLE BIN folder or the .actors subfolders in my video folders from my XBMC media scraper. I still think displaying hidden folders should be an option, but hey, it’s your project and a dang fine one at that. Thanks for at least implementing the folder hiding. 🙂
wii_about_guideParticipantI had previously suggested using the info file formats used by XBMC, as there are several good PC scraper apps out there for those formats, such as MediaCompanion.
wii_about_guideParticipantI personally don’t, but if someone did, they wouldn’t be able to access those folders without renaming them on the PC. Any computer file browser has the option to show hidden files, although they are hidden by default.
wii_about_guideParticipantI see this is implemented in 1.0.4, but it appears that there is no way to turn it off to show these folders if that’s actually what you want. Thanks for implementing it, but it should probably be optional. You could probably put the option right next to the option for hiding file extensions.
wii_about_guideParticipantOn the calibration screen, point your Wiimote in the direction(s) where you were having the OSD pop up and see if there are any dots that pop up to try and figure out what the Wiimote is “seeing”. Maybe it’s a window or a bright light or something like that.
wii_about_guideParticipantI realize that this would involve a pretty major GUI overhaul to implement. I’m not expecting miracles or anything, and I do understand how much work would be involved in something like this. I just wanted to throw in my two cents that if a coverflow type view were to ever be pursued, that this would be a nice way to go about it. Thanks Tantric and rodries for all of your hard work on this.
wii_about_guideParticipantI checked Windows Media Player, iTunes, VLC, and SMPlayer, and all of them behave the same way as WiiMC currently does (in full screen mode, the on-screen controls appear when the cursor moves to ANY point on the screen, not just the bottom of the screen), so the current behavior makes the most sense. Just point the Wiimote away from the screen when you set it down.
